More on Brian "Road Dogg" James Stepping Down as SmackDown Writer

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brian “Road Dogg” James stepping down as one of the head writers of Smackdown LIVE was mainly because of his frustration. James would always be on the road wherever the show may end up taking place and he would split that time with being at home in Pensacola, Florida and Skyping into meetings with Vince McMahon that would take “all night.” Other days James would be in the Stamford offices and attend the meetings live until the morning hours.

The belief is that the frustration came as a result of working all those hours and putting SmackDown LIVE together only for it to basically be “torn apart” and re-done by Vince at the production meetings on Tuesday afternoons. It is also being noted that McMahon “dressed down” James on more than one occasion about “product continuity issues”, which interestingly WWE has now posted an official position online for that they are looking to fill.
