WWE had previously announced that there would be a singles match between Trish Stratus and Alexa Bliss at the Evolution event later this month. The company also announced that WWE Hall of Famer Lita would be wrestling on that same show in a match against Mickie James. However, during Raw this week, it was announced that Alexa Bliss and Mickie James will actually be teaming up to take on the team of Stratus and Lita at Evolution. In contradiction to a previous report made earlier this week, PWInsider says that this was not always the original plan and the decision to merge the two singles matches into a tag team match only came about a few weeks ago. Lita and Trish are also expected to team up on more shows in the future.

Some fans were intrigued when they noticed that WWE had been filing some trademarks for several properties related to the defunct WCW promotion. Concepts such as "Halloween Havoc" have been registered recently, and while it was initially thought that the company was simply doing this to retain ownership claims, there may be a bit more to it than that. Ringside News states that some of these WCW trademarks filings are expected to be used by WWE once SmackDown's new TV deal with Fox becomes active next year. WWE has brought back WCW concepts such as Starrcade and the WarGames match, so it certainly seems possible that more ideas from WCW will be on their way back very soon.

It announced earlier this week that WWE Hall of Famer Edge will be appearing on the 1000th episode of SmackDown next week. Edge will be coming back to host an episode of his Cutting Edge talk show segment during the show, but his guest for the show still has yet to be announced. Naturally, fans have been wondering if Edge's tag team partner, Christian, would also be making an appearance during the upcoming episode of SmackDown. According to PWInsider, the former world champion is not currently scheduled for the show, so it looks like Edge will be by himself on the historic edition of SmackDown next week. Fans of Edge can look forward to seeing him back on WWE programming on Tuesday night.
