WWE has reportedly taken an interest in signing a few new stars from the independent circuit who have been making names for themselves. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that Shane Strickland is one name that WWE is hoping to sign soon, and it's been noted that he will also be "coming in for a future look.” Lucha Libre stars Pentagon Jr and Fenix also continue to be on WWE's radar at the moment, and the two wrestlers have reportedly told independent promoters that they are considering their options in 2019. The two of them are only on their fourth out of seven season deal with Lucha Underground, but the show did also loosen their rules of their talent contracts, which may allow for the brothers to exit sooner than expected.

Sami Zayn has been off of WWE television for a while now as he receives surgeries to fix a rotator cuff injury. The Raw Superstar already underwent surgery on one of his shoulders, and he revealed earlier this week that he was in the hospital in order to have the other shoulder examined. Sami just revealed on Twitter that he has officially completed his second round of surgeries and has been rehabbing his injury nicely so far. Zayn will unfortunately continue to be out for the remainder of the year, but Zayn and WWE officials are still hopeful that he will be able to return in time for WrestleMania 34 in April of next year. Stay tuned for more additional updates as Zayn continues to go down the road to recovery.

One of the biggest matches that will be taking place at SummerSlam on August 19th is the match between Ronda Rousey and Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women's Champion. Several fans believe that Rousey will dethrone Bliss and win the championship for the first time in her young WWE career, but an advertisement sent out recently by the American Bank Center may have already spoiled the result of the match. An ad for an upcoming WWE live event at the arena in Corpus Christi, Texas reveals that Ronda Rousey will be appearing on the show and she has the women's title placed around her shoulder in the promotional photo. While this could be a misunderstanding, it could also be a huge indication that Rousey will soon win the title.
