It was truly a real treat to watch WWE's United Kingdom Championship Tournament on the WWE Network last year. The show introduced WWE fans to some of the best talent currently working over in the UK, including the likes of Trent Seven, Wolfgang, and Mark Andrews. The show featured sixteen European wrestlers competing in a tournament over the course of two nights all in order to determine the first-ever United Kingdom Champion in WWE. Tyler Bate won the tournament and the title at only nineteen years old before losing the belt to Pete Dunne at NXT Takeover: Chicago almost one year ago. Dunne has successfully defended the UK title ever since.

However, a brand new UK Champion could perhaps be on the way very soon. WWE announced over WrestleMania weekend that another UK Championship Tournament will be taking place in London's Royal Albert Hall in June. Recent reports of WWE locking down more UK stars to deals have been made over the past few weeks, and it looks like plenty of new faces will be competing in the UK tournament. Eight out of the sixteen competitors in the tournament have just been revealed by WWE. A few familiar names and some brand new names will be taking part in the tournament this year. All eight of the recently announced names can be read down below:

- Amir Jordan

- Dave Mastiff

- El Ligero

- Jack Gallagher

- Joe Coffey

- Joseph Conners

- Kenny Williams

- Zack Gibson

These are the first half of the participants set to take part in the UK Championship tournament next month. The first round of the tournament will take place during NXT's upcoming live events at the Download Music Festival on 6/8-6/10. The remaining tournament matches will be held in the Royal Albert Hall on June 18th before the winner faces Pete Dunne for the UK title the very next night. With only a few more weeks left to go before the tournament officially begins, it will be interesting to see who else takes part in the show. The final eight names in the tournament will be announced this Friday.
