Why Kid Rock Wasn't at WrestleMania, Next NXT Takeover Announced
Monday, April 9, 2018
The WWE Hall of Fame ceremony from this past week saw musician Kid Rock get inducted ed into the celebrity wing of the Hall of Fame. During WrestleMania, it has become a tradition for the Hall of Famers of each year to be introduced and acknowledged during a brief segment. All of this year's inductees were present at WrestleMania last night, but fans quickly noticed that Kid Rock was nowhere to be found. This was a surprising move given that Kid Rock's song "Celebrate" was used as the theme song for WrestleMania this year. It has been revealed that the brand new member of the WWE Hall of Fame apparently had to miss the event last night due to prior commitments.
Kid Rock was scheduled to appear alongside the Class of 2018 during the annual Hall of Fame segment during WrestleMania last night, but PWInsider just confirmed that the musician had to miss the show because he is scheduled to host the Kid Rock's Ninth Annual Chillin' the Most" cruise. Some fans believed that Kid Rock would perform the WrestleMania theme live during the show, or possibly even play The Undertaker's old theme, which he created, when he competed at the show last night. The cruise does not leave until tomorrow but WWE was reportedly aware that Kid Rock had to leave New Orleans early as he was never scheduled to appear at the event at all.
This past Saturday night saw WWE host perhaps one of the most successful NXT Takeover events in the history of the developmental brand. NXT Takeover: New Orleans was a critical success with some fans even claiming that the show may have topped this year's WrestleMania in quality. Unsurprisingly, WWE has already announced when the next Takeover event will take place. NXT Takeover: Chicago will arrive once again from the Allstate Arena on June 16th. This is the second time that a Takeover show has been hosted in Chicago, Illinois. It featured a memorable match between Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate, and it saw the demise of #DIY as well. Tickets go on sale on April 14th.
