Universal Title Match Status, Roman Working Live Events, Lesnar
Wednesday, March 14, 2018
After winning the Elimination Chamber match, it was confirmed that Roman Reigns will be facing Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania. Reports that WWE is fearful of filmmaker Jon Bravo exposing Roman Reigns as a client of jailed steroid distributor have surfaced online recently, and it has even been suggested that Braun Strowman has been selected as a backup opponent in case any incriminating evidence against Reigns comes out. According to the Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is now convinced that there is no substance to any of Bravo's claims. The company is now expected to proceed onward with the Universal Championship match as planned.
Roman Reigns will likely still be facing Brock Lesnar for his title in the main event of WrestleMania this year, but WWE just did an angle on Raw this past Monday night which saw Reigns receive a temporary suspension from the company. Of course, this is all part of a storyline and Reigns has not really been suspended by WWE. Just in case there was any doubt, PWInsider reports that Reigns will be appearing on all of the upcoming live events that he is scheduled for despite his kayfabe suspension from the company. Reigns is advertised to appear on Raw live events this weekend, and he is even being advertised to appear on Monday Night Raw next week.
There continues to be a lot of doubt cast over Brock Lesnar's future in WWE. The company has now acknowledged that Lesnar may be looking to leave in favor of rejoining UFC. After weeks of not appearing on Raw, Vince McMahon himself confirmed that Lesnar will be appearing on Raw next week and will defend his championship at WrestleMania as well. Fans may be about to see Lesnar on even more shows than that as PWInsider is reporting that "The Beast Incarnate" is advertised to appear on every single remaining episode of Raw leading up to WrestleMania. There is still currently no word on if Brock will be making any more WWE appearances after WrestleMania concludes.
