WWE 205 Live Results (03/13): The Semifinals Begins

The show starts with highlights and a recap of last Tuesday’s quarterfinal wins by Drew Gulak and Mustafa Ali and a quick preview of tonight’s semifinal match between Cedric Alexander and Roderick Strong.

Hideo Itami & Akira Tozawa vs. Lince Dorado & Gran Metalik (with Kalisto): Tozawa and Dorado kicks things off. Metalik gets tagged in and drops Tozawa, then goes for the quick cover, but barely gets a two. Tozawa with a Hurricanrana, then tags in Itami. Metalik with a Flip off the ropes, followed by a hip toss, then a dropkick, then he brings in Dorado. They hits stereo dropkicks, then Dorado hits a standing moonsault. Itami with a huge kick to Dorado's chest and follows that up with a boot to the jaw. Tozawa gets tagged in, then starts hitting chops to the chest, he then fakes a chop and hits a punch to the face. Itami is back in as he hits a back elbow, followed by knee drops, then fakes a third one with a light kick to the head. Kalisto tries to get a "Lucha!" chant going as Tozawa and Dorado chop away at each other. Metalik goes to work with some rope walking and high-flying. Dorado in and leaps off Metalik's back up and all the way down to the floor on Tozawa. Metalik walks the ropes and hops off. Metalik misses and tweaks his knee. Itami is able to finish him off with a drop to the knee and gets the 1-2-3. Winners: Hideo Itami & Akira Tozawa
After the match, Dorado comes in and shoves Itami away from his partner. It looked like Itami was just checking on Metalik. The two gets separated.
We get a video vignette on Roderick Strong talking about how he's opened up to the WWE Universe and is just trying to earn his way up the ladder. He also speaks about getting to WrestleMania and doing his family proud.
205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick makes his way down to the ring to join commentary for our next match.
Jack Gallagher vs. Murphy Myers: Gallagher gets right after his opponent as he stares him down, then hits a big clothesline and a body slam. The damage continues and he stomps and swings away at his grounded opponent. Myers is able to get offense in. Gallagher is on the floor as Myers tries for a baseball slide, but Gallagher pulls up the ring apron and hammers away at his opponent. Action is back in the ring as Gallagher hits a huge head-butt for the win. Winner: Jack Gallagher
We get a video vignette from Cedric Alexander talking about his journey since joining WWE, how his style differs from the rest of the roster and how he will win the big one this time and head to WrestleMania.
We get a promo from Mustafa Ali talking about Drew Gulak being a bully as a mysterious figure slowly walks towards him from behind. Ali also talks about when he was a kid and didn't step up when a bully went after his friend. Ali then says that now he has a chance to fight back as the figure lunges at him.
Cedric Alexander vs. Roderick Strong (Cruiserweight Championship Tournament Semifinals Match): Feeling out process early on between both Superstars. Alexander hits a dropkick, then goes for a pin, but only a two count. We see both Ali and Gulak (in different rooms) watching this match. Alexander hits a big back drop on Strong. Alexander is on the apron and tries to springboard in, but Strong hits the rope to bring Alexander crashing down to the mat. Strong stomps away in the corner, then hits a hip toss. Strong goes for multiple covers that don't even get to a one count. Alexander tries for a handspring kick, but Strong catches him in midair with a dropkick and goes for a pin, but only a two count. Strong continues to swing away at Alexander as the referee backs him up for a moment. Strong continues to stomp away at Alexander's midsection. Alexander is able to work his way back into the match as he nails a nice flip over the top rope to the floor. Back in the ring, Alexander attempts a lumbar check, but Strong blocks it. Alexander tries for a springboard, but gets caught. Strong tries for a back-breaker, but Alexander reverses it. Strong goes for another backbreaker and hits it, then goes for a pin, but only a two count.
Alexander hits a handspring kick, then hits a lumbar check. Alexander goes for the cover, but Strong is able to get his foot on the bottom rope before the three count. Both superstars are out on the apron. Strong has Alexander up on his shoulders and launches him over to the turnbuckle bouncing him down to the floor. Referee starts up his ten count, but Alexander gets back in at nine. Alexander kicks Strong directly to his face as Strong hits a jumping knee on Alexander. Both superstars head up to the top rope and Strong lands a nice superplex. Strong goes for a cover, but only a two count. Crowd with a "This is awesome!" chant. Strong hits the end of heartache, but now Alexander gets his foot on the rope just like Strong did earlier in the match. "Yes!" chant breaks out in the crowd. Alexander looks to get to the floor, but Strong yanks him back into the ring. Alexander hits a massive back elbow that drops Strong. The referee is continuously checking on both Superstars at this point. Chops and forearms in the middle of the ring as both men are just swinging away at each other. Alexander tries for the lumbar check, but Strong flipped out of it. Strong hits a knee strike and goes in for a move, but Alexander rolls him up for the 1-2-3. Winner & Advances to the finals at WrestleMania 34: Cedric Alexander
After the match, Dasha Fuentes interviews an emotional Alexander who says that he earned this opportunity and he will leave WrestleMania as the champion. The show comes to a close.
