PWInsider reports that Vince McMahon has stepped aside and he is no longer involved with putting the show together. The show is now being overseen by Triple H and the changes have not gone unnoticed because it has more of the Cruiserweight Classic vibe to it.
The change was made because there was a realization that McMahon's philosophy to put emphasis on character-driven storylines over in-ring action was not working. Last month I noted that the first 205 Live house shows came off great because the crowd was hot for everything because the wrestlers were not restricted in the ring and they toned down the storylines. I also noted last month that the idea for the live events was to go back to the old CWC formula. That was the original idea for 205 Live last year when the brand launched until Vince McMahon got his hands on it.
Triple H took over the 205 Live TV show two weeks ago as an attempt to fix things. Jonathan Baeckstrom is the lead writer and Adam Pearce is the lead Producer. Pearce also produced the excellent and well-received 205 Live house shows in the northeast last month.
