The Miz Signs New Deal With WWE, Young Bucks Leaving New Japan?
Tuesday, February 6, 2018
The Miz has been competing in WWE for a decade now, but he has arguably never been as beloved by the fans as he is right now. The Miz has been praised for his promos and his work as Intercontinental Champion over the past two years. He has held the title 8-times, and additionally, has held the United States Championship, Tag Team Championships, and the Money in the Bank briefcase during his career. The Miz also is a former WWE Champion who defeated John Cena in the main event of WrestleMania 27 back in 2011. Indeed, The Miz has done it all over the course of his tenure with the company, but it sounds like he may just be getting started.
In case there was ever any fear over The Miz taking more time off from the ring after he becomes a father this April, it is now being reported that the current Intercontinental Champion has signed a new deal with WWE. PWInsider has reported that The Miz has signed a new contract with the company which will lock him up for the next four years. The Miz is currently featured on Monday Night Raw and the Total Divas reality program on E! with his wife Maryse. Ever since competing on WWE's Tough Enough competition show in 2004, The Miz has become an accomplished performer in the company. Who knows what else he will be able to do between now and 2022? We'll have to wait and see.
Two of the biggest stars outside of WWE right now are the Young Bucks. Consisting of brother Matt and Nick Jackson, the two have transformed the independent wrestling scene over the years. While the two remain polarizing, their success cannot be denied. However, Matt Jackson interestingly replied “our contracts will be up by then, so we’ll see” when asked by a fan on Twitter if the Bucks will be competing at next year's Wrestle Kingdom show in Japan. The brothers have been hesitant to join WWE over the years, and the company controversially banned them from using their "too sweet" hand gesture last year, so it is possible that this could all be elaborate 'trolling' from Matt. However, between now and next January, anything could happen.
