SmackDown Sampler- “Let’s Go-Home” (6 March)

It’s the go-home episode before WWE hits their last stop on the Road to WrestleMania, Elimination Chamber, as they head through the Keybank Center in Buffalo, NY tonight.

Here’s what to expect from the 6 March 2020 of Friday Night SmackDown.

In tag team action, Lacey Evans and Naomi take Sasha Banks and reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley in a rematch of their ad hoc tag team match from last week. There isn’t a schedule Women’s title match booked for Sunday, so perhaps this is setting up a multi-woman match for WrestleMania down the road. It also seemed as though that the title push on Evans had been dropped for Naomi’s (and before that, Carmella, for what ever reason), but this would appear to be another endorsement in having “The Sassy Southern Belle” chase, and perhaps this time, win the belt.

And the tag team action continues, as all six teams that will be in the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Elimination Chamber this Sunday compete in a Gauntlet Match to determine who will be the last entrant at the PPV. Heavy Machinery, The Usos, Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode, Lucha House Party, The New Day, and the champions Miz & Morrison all look to earn that edge going in the title match. One would have to think that this is going in the heels’ favour, whether that be the champions or Ziggler & Roode.

“The Firefly Funhouse” has an announced segment, just eight days after “The Fiend” dropped the Universal Championship– in somewhat shocking fashion– to Goldberg at Super ShowDown, and a week after appearing at the end of John Cena’s homecoming and simply pointing at the WrestleMania sign, thus setting up their match at the event. There certainly needs to be some rehab done for Bray Wyatt, as fans were hot over him losing the title so unceremoniously and pivoting to a new, somewhat forced, feud almost immediately. If there’s one person who can talk his way into making us get over the glorified job in Saudi Arabia, and get us excited about another Cena/Wyatt match at WrestleMania, it’s Bray Wyatt.

And finally, 2020 WWE Hall of Fame inductees Sean Waltman, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash of the nWo are set to appear as guest on The Goddess Alexa Bliss’ talkshow “A Moment of Bliss.” Is this a set up to something further, or to get heat on a younger talent as we move closer towards Tampa Bay, it’s hard to say, but rarely does a talk show segment go along without incident. Either way, as over as Bliss appears to be in this role, she should be wrestling as a cocky, shit-talking heel again. That was some of the best heel work around…

It all goes down tonight at 8pm EST live on FOX!
