Mr. Nick’s Notes: SmackDown 3/6/20

The last episode of SmackDown before Elimination Chamber this weekend.

Tonight’s show starts with a recap of John Cena’s return last week. Having The Fiend show up behind Cena the way they did was picture perfect.

A Moment Of Bliss:

Before they introduce tonight’s guests Alexa Bliss challenges The Kabuki Warriors to a Tag Team Championship match

Alexa and Nikki welcome the soon to be inducted nWo (without Hogan tonight)!

Kevin Nash looks awesome! What a recovery he’s had.

Alexa asks Nash about ending Goldberg’s streak. Hall keeps laughing at every slight jab. Perfect.

Then Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn, and Cesaro interrupt the show. Sami is here to talk about the future of wrestling.

Sami praises each of the nWo members for being Intercontinental Champions. Then he makes a joke about Syxx.

Things get heated, and Sami asks if they want to fight…then of course backs down to a chorus of boos.

Then Intercontinental Champion Braun Strowman comes out and takes out Shin, and Cesaro.

Sami gets chased into the ring and is stopped by the nWo. He hides behind Alexa Bliss, then runs.

Braun gets the last word here and gets to say “too sweet” with the nWo.

This rough segment ends…

Tag Team Match:

SmackDown Woman’s Champion Bayley & Sasha Banks

Naomi & Lacey Evans
During this match the strange static interruption and logo appear. This has been going on for a few weeks (month?) now. Has anyone else noticed this? I don’t see anyone else talking about it anywhere.

Backstage: The New Day are interviewed about the Tag Team Gauntlet match tonight. Will they win and go on to the Elimination Chamber? They think so. Because! New Day Rocks…

Singles Match:

Apollo Crews
Before the match Chad Gable tells Apollo that he has his back. Apollo wasn’t a fan of that…maybe he should have been.

Backstage: Drew Gulak is asked about Daniel Bryan’s weaknesses by Drake Maverick. While he’s talking Daniel Bryan stops him and kind of challenges Gulak to a match this Sunday. Sign me up!

Tag Team Match:

Fire & Desire w/Dolph Ziggler

Carmella & Dana Brooke
They spent all match talking about Dolph Ziggler swooping in on Mandy. Poor Otis. Sonya invited Dolph to ringside for this one apparently. As SmackDown turns…

A second recap of the night is shown for the Cena/Wyatt segment last week.

Firefly Fun House
All of the pictures in the Fun House are replaced by pictures of John Cena.

Why John Cena? Well because he beat Bray at WrestleMania a few years ago. That led to a downward spiral that led to The Fiend.

Not much else here this time sadly.

Recap: Goldberg asking who’s next and Roman Reigns saying he’s next at WrestleMania.

Backstage: King Corbin is interviewed and quickly gets interrupted by Elias.

Backstage: Otis apologizes to Mandy for showing up late at Valentine’s day. Mandy says it’s too late, a lady doesn’t like getting stood up like that. Poor Otis…

Holy smokes!

Miz and Morrison take out Otis and Tucker after being eliminated.

Mandy is watching backstage, but Dolph tells her not to watch Otis but to watch him instead.

Also, that strange circle logo thing shows up again on the screen she was watching. Seriously, anyone else going to talk about this?

Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode enter the match

That’s the end of the show folks. See you next week!
