Raw Rundown: Asuka Two-Belts? (10 February)

Tonight, Monday Night Raw is live from the Toyota Center– home of the AHL’s Reign– in Ontario, CA with “two epic main events” announced for the show.

Here is a preview of what to expect on tonight’s episode.

“The Monday Night Messiah” Seth Rollins and his “Disciples” Buddy Murphy and The A.O.P. are set to do battle in an 8-man tag team match against Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, and The Viking Raiders. First and foremost, it’s encouraging to see Joe back already after suffering a concussion a few weeks ago. A big, multi-man tag match is the perfect way to bring him back into the ring, as he’ll be protected should there be any lingering ring rust. It will be interesting to see how they push this feud further, as it would seem that all these men coming together would be booked for the Super ShowDown event coming up in just over two weeks. Perhaps a Raw Tag Team Championship match with just Rollins, Murphy, Owens, and Joe is how this feud ultimately blows off, but until then hopefully we get a fairly competitive match and not just a massive schmoz.

In the other main event, Becky Lynch defends her Raw Women’s Championship against Tag Team Champion Asuka, in yet another battle of their epic war that has lasted on-and-off for over a year. Lynch’s slight tweak to her character, turning her into a cocky, flippant, reigning champion adds a much-needed refresh to her character, as she further plays the role of a tweeter rather than a straight babyface. The battles with Asuka have been awesome so far, and the hope is that they give the women the time to put in a PPV-level match. As we move closer to WrestleMania, and without a clear opponent really decided it seems for Lynch (as of yet), would WWE bookers have her unexpectedly drop the championship?

It all goes down tonight live at 8pm EST, on  USA Network!
