It’s the go-home show of Monday Night Raw, live from the Intrust Bank Arena in Witchita, Kansas, to Royal Rumble.
Here’s a preview of what’s set to go down tonight.
Brock Lesnar is booked to make his third straight Raw appearance, something that has been almost unfathomable since the Beast’s return in 2012. He’s set to enter the Royal Rumble match as the #1 entrant, and there has yet to be anyone to step up to enter and face him at #2. Last week’s comedy bit with R-Truth was well executed, but with less than a week before the Rumble, and Lesnar making an unprecedented third-straight appearance, it would be nice to see someone actually step up and challenge Lesnar to start the match (perhaps a red-hot Aleister Black?).
Liv Morgan makes her in-ring return in a mixed tag match, teaming with Rusev to take on Lana & Bobby Lashley. The Springer-style storyline continues, but now mixing in more actual in-ring material. It will be interesting to see how Morgan works in the ring, considering her counterpart, Lana, isn’t the best dance partner to put on a thrilling match. Lashley and Rusev continue to get at each other, that hopefully blows off in the Rumble match and both can move on to more serious and competitive programs.
After first losing his title, then being humiliated in the rematch wherein his mask was removed, Rey Mysterio gets another title rematch as he challenges Andrade for the United States Championship in a Ladder match. These two wrestlers have put on some extraordinary matches, and the grizzled vet Mysterio will undoubtedly continue to help put the young talent Andrade over in a match that, should Andrade win will blow this feud off, or will continue going as we head closer to WrestleMania 36 should Rey regain the title.
Nothing has been announced (at the time of writing) for what Seth Rollins, AOP, and newly-recruited Buddy Murphy have to say about their growing stable, but don’t be surprised to see them open the show, with Murphy addressing the crowd, explaining why he chose to join the group.
It all goes down tonight, six days before the most exciting PPV of the year, Royal Rumble.
