Mr. Nick’s Notes: AEW Dynamite 12/11/2019

I’m going to try something different this week. Instead of trying to transcribe the events as they happen, I’m going to focus on reactions.

I’ll still have the same format I’ve been running with, just less of the “this is exactly what happened” kind of stuff and more of the “wow that didn’t go over well” kind of thing. Let’s see if it works.

Show Begins

Cold open with no intro video on TSN tonight.

Match #1: Singles Match
Jon Moxley v some guy

Justin Roberts said JEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON MOXLEEEEEEEEEY! longer than this match lasted.

Match End: Jon Moxley wins

Chris Jericho and the whole Inner Circle head to the ring and surround the ring.

The crowd chanting swear words and Jericho tells them to watch their language. Then he swears during this promo. I love Chris Jericho so much.

Jericho makes a very compelling sales pitch to Moxley on why he should join The Inner Circle.

Time to set up the rest of the show. Looks like another stacked card like every week. Texas (because their in Dallas tonight) street fight tag match is going to be fun.

Match #2: Tag Team Match
Butcher & Blade w/Bunny v Cody & QT Marshall

One guy wears a monocle, the other a bondage mask. Edgy.

Cody’s pyro budget must be incredible. QT had an apple as pyro.

MJF picked QT Marshall as Cody’s partner for this match.

The screen goes dark as they cut to the split screen commercial. Where’s that ffwd button?

Great tag team teases here making sure QT doesn’t get the hot tag.

QT is hitting the worst version of moves all over the place. Intentionally sloppy for effect? I hope so because it wasn’t pretty.

Match End: Butcher & Blade pin QT Marshall to win.

Darby Allin matches down to the ring and helps Cody up then walks back to backstage. Okay then..

MJF and Wardlow Segment

MJF gets a crew member into the ring to kiss his ring. Gets a slow Cross Rhodes anyway.

MJF is straight fire with a microphone wow.

MJF accepts Cody’s challenge but will name his stipulations later.

The crowd chants more swears and that forces TSN to cut the audio and we miss what MJF says for a bit. Stupid crowd.

Segment End

Another interesting video for The Dark Order. This one was Black Mirror like. I’m enjoying this.

Match #3: Singles Match
Big Swole v Emi Sakura

Big Swole is the newest woman in AEW and she’s gets to wrestle the master training Sakura. Chuckle all you want about Sakura, but she’s the best opponent anyone can have to start. The best kind of showcase match.

Having a match against Sakura can go two ways. She’s going to make you look like a super hero in there, but if you’re not committed she’s going to make everyone see it. That’s what happened this match regardless of the finish.

Match End: Big Swole wins

PAC is interviewed backstage and it still floors me how poorly he was used “up north”.

Match #4: Tag Team Match
Superbad Kip Sabian w/Penelope Ford & “The Chairman” Shawn Spears v “Hangman” Adam Page & Kenny Omega

I don’t watch “Being The Elite” anymore so in wasn’t aware that Hangman left The Elite.

The point of this match is a scouting report for a potential Kip Sabian and Shawn Spears tag team. Quite the team to take on for that.

The lights go out and when they come on Joey Janella has Tully Blanchard tied to a chair on the entrance ramp. Spears leaves the match to best him up.

Kenny is going to have some fun.

Match End: Adam Page pins Kip Sabian

Brandi Rhodes cuts down the Woman’s Division and teases a new male member of the Nightmare Collective.

Le Champion Chris Jericho and Jake Hager force themselves onto commentary for the next match. More Jericho the better in my opinion. The man is on another level right now.

Match #5: Singles Match
Sammy Guevara v Luchasaurus w/Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt

“Luchasaurus is a legit heavyweight” – JR
“Yeah, but he’s not a legit dinosaur” – Jericho

I had to laugh during the split screen commercial break. They show the commentary desk chatting away during the silent part here. Then a big move gets a split screen replay…that’s 3 screens now. Hilarious!

Match End: Luchasaurus pins Guevara

While the pin is happening Jericho and Hager run down to the ring, the Jurassic Express get the better of them and Jungle Boy mock pins Jericho for a fake 3 count. That’s not going to sit well for next week.

Main Event: Texas Street Fight
The Young Bucks v Santana & Otriz

Falls Count anywhere
No holds barred
No time limit

Buckle up!

Sammy Guevara join Santana & Ortiz and jump the bucks on the strange.

Brandon Cuttler tries to help but gets slammed through the stage.

Young Bucks turn the tide and put Ortiz through a table with a dive off the entrance tube.

There are ladders and tables all over ringside. TLC has come early this week!

Matt Jackson puts on a Dallas Cowboys helmet and the crowd goes nuts.

I really thought this match was over during the entrances because of the run in, but thankfully it didn’t because this has been VERY entertaining.

Jake Hager runs down and pulls the ref out of the ring. Then the ref gets kicked in the face by one of the Jackson brothers.

Dustin Rhodes comes out and brawls with Hager into the back.

Tony Schiavone can’t tell the difference between Nick and Matt Jackson and it has been hilarious all match. I feel this since I can’t most of the time either.

What a match!

Match End: The Young Bucks win and become the number 1 contenders for the AEW Tag Team Championship

SCU get into the ring and into the faces of The Young Bucks as the show ends.
