Mr. Nick’s Notes: SmackDown Live 9/10/2019

Madison Square Gardens hosts SmackDown Live tonight with special guest The Undertaker!

Just like last night on RAW, we’re not waiting for our special guest to arrive.
As the camera pans across the crowd the all too familiar bell tolls as the lights go out, that hair raising music plays, and smoke fills the arena. It’s The Undertaker!
Kids used to cry at the sight of him, but now they chant his name. Either way they are in the presence of a “living” legend.

In the middle of The Undertaker’s speech he is interpreted by Sami Zayn…oh boy…he’s talking and getting into the ring. Did he just ask Taker to leave the ring? Oh no no no Sami…

…and CHOKESLAM! another soul taken.

Chad Gable is on tv…immediate short joke. Ugh.

Shane McMahon tells him that Elias is injured and that there will be a replacement.

Match #1: Singles Match
The Miz v Andrade w/Zelina Vega

Shinsuke Nakamura is on commentary and he’s only speaking Japanese. Amazing! They keep asking his questions! I love this.

The crowd chanted Miz is Awesome! So that’s pretty cool for The Miz.

Miz throws Andrade into a seated Nakamura. I’m sure he’ll just let that slide.

Match End: Miz pins Andrade and is immediately hit from behind by Nakamura with a Kinshasa.

Oh lord…Shane McMahon is going to fill in for Elias tonight. Garbage.

Match #2: Singles Match
Mandy Rose w/Sonya Deville v Womans Tag Team Champion Nikki Cross w/Alexa Bliss

To quote my wife “I hate this mean girls shit.”. I agree…so stupid and cheap.

Nikki Cross was having none of it either and she charges down to the ring like The Ultimate Warrior!

Match End: Nikki Cross pins Mandy after a pretty one sided match.

Backstage Ember Moon calls out Bayley about her heel turn. It earns her a match later tonight.

Match #3: Tag Team Match
Heavy Machinery v Local Jobbers.

Match End: Heavy Machinery wins. MSG loves Otis.

Shane McMahon tells Kevin Owens that he’ll lift the $100,000 fine if he’ll ref the match between him and Chad Gable.

Erick Rowan has new music thankfully. He’s in the ring with a mic.
Doesn’t take long for Roman to come out and confront him. They take the fight into the crowd. Security does the hold them back stuff but Rowan launches a “fan” into Roman. Then drags Roman up the ramp. All the agents try to settle Rowan down. Rowan uses the jib camera (big arm) to hit Roman for the KO. That’s pretty innovative.

Match #4: Singles Match
SmackDown Womans Champion Bayley v Ember Moon.

Charlotte Flair is on commentary for this match.

Bayley still has the happy music and inflatables. Lame.

Match End: Bayley wins.

Charlotte slowly gets into the ring and taunts Bayley who just gets out of the ring with her belt and a big smile of confidence.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Kofi Kingston comes out to relive some iconic moments of his that happened in MSG

Randy Orton comes out and says everything Kofi is talking about is bullshit.

Kofi heads out to Randy and gets beat up and almost put through a table but he fights back and hits Orton with a chair a few times.
Setting up the table…and history repeates itself from 10 years ago as Kofi hits the Boom Drop on Orton through a table!

Main Event: King of the Ring Semifinal Match
Chad Gable v Shane McMahon
Special guest referee: Kevin Owens

Shane cuts off Gables entrance and bring out his stupid blood money trophy to the throne they have set up ringside.

Chad Gable hits Shane McMahon with a gigantic German Suplex!

Match End?: The German Suplex is bridged and Owens counts to 3. Chade Gable wins!

Shane grabs a mic and says that the match is 2 out of 3 falls. Then attacks Gable before they restart the match.

A very conflicted looking Kevin Owens with a very slow count for a Gable pin. Then a quick count for Shane.

Chad Gable with a beautiful moonsault! KO with a very very slow count for 2.

Kevin stops Shane from using a chair and Chad Gable slaps on an ankle lock.

Match End: Shane taps to the ankle lock and Chad Gable advances to the King of the Ring final!

Shane McMahon attacks Kevin Owens then grabs a microphone and fires Kevin Owens as the show ends.
