Mr. Nick’s Notes: NXT July 10, 2019

The July 10, 2019 episode to NXT occurred at Full Sail University.

Tonight the NXT Tag Team Championship is defended in the main event. Street Profits take on Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch.

New music, video, and look for Io Shirai now that she’s gone darkside. Very badass theme music. The crowd is very hostile towards her which is what she deserves after last week. She just says that she doesn’t need friends and then leaves.

Velveteen Dream holds a “press conference” and ducks every question. He’s great, but being a tweener doesn’t really work for his character. Way better as a heel.

Match #1: Damian Priest v Blanco Loco

Damian Priest gets another sacrificial lamb of an opponent Blanco Loco. The “rockstar vampire” hits all his moves and taunts.

Match End: Damian hits the “Cross Rhodes” for the pin fall victory. *yawn*

Killian Dain has been sitting in the dark watching awful moments from the Irish “Troubles” for 3 weeks now and he’s ready to unleash his anger. An angry Killian Dain could be very fun to watch.

Match #2: NXT Breakout Tournament Round 1 Match
BOA v Jordan Myles

I have no idea who these guys are so I’m going to sit back an get ready to be impressed. The last 2 matches in this tournament have been impressive so this shouldn’t dissapoint.

I was wrong. No chemistry at all between these two made for a slow match. The pace didn’t pick up until the end.

Match End: Jordan Myles picks up the pin fall victory after landing a 450° splash.

Shayna Baszler has a “media scrum”. Says she isn’t impressed with Mia Yim or her story. She’s such a good Champion and badass heel.

Keith Lee gets a very nice hype video talking about his first year in NXT. Get that rocketship to the top ready! This guy is ready and I can’t wait!

General Manager William Regal announces that next week Apollo Crews will face Kushida! Everyone want to wrestle this guy.

Also next week Adam Cole will defend the NXT Championship. Packed show!

Main Event: NXT Tag Team Championship Match.
Street Profits(c) v Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch

The Street Profits have been doing their best Desus & Mero impressions on RAW for the last two weeks. This week they have to defend their titles instead of hyping Extreme Rules.

Burch and Lorcan as always are looking ready for a fight. Buckle up!

What a tag team match! Both teams have that chemistry that makes for great matches to watch and this one has been phenomenal.

Match End: Street Profits retain the NXT Tag Team Titles. Fantastic match!

After the match Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly walk onto the stage and point their fingers at the Champions as the show fades to black.

Only one dud of a match this week, but the main event made up for it. Next week looks to be a very strong show.
