Impact Star Re-Signs, Ziggler Update, Plans for New WWE Title

A member of the Impact Wrestling roster has just agreed to sign a brand new deal with the promotion. Jordynne Grace informed her fans on Twitter earlier this week that she has signed with Impact Wrestling and will continue to compete for the promotion for an unspecified number of years. Grace said that she received offers from other promotions, but she made the decision to stay with Impact Wrestling because that is where she feels like she should be for now. This development comes right after a report from PWInsider, which claimed that Jordynne Grace never actually signed an official contract with Impact despite the fact that the promotion originally claimed that she did sign with them back in October of 2018.

It’s been a while since Dolph Ziggler has appeared on WWE programming. Ziggler did experience some success last year when he started teaming up with Drew McIntyre. The two of them even won the Raw Tag Team Championships together, but Ziggler has been off of WWE television altogether for months now. In an update provided on Wrestling Observer Radio, it was mentioned that Ziggler is still under contract with WWE but the company simply has no creative plans for him at the moment. WWE officials supposedly wanted Ziggler to become a backstage agent, but he wanted to continue wrestling. The two side compromised and Ziggler now does stand-up comedy and is called in by WWE to wrestle when he is needed.

During the Money in the Bank pay-per-view last night, WWE announced that a brand new championship will be debuting soon. An image and the name of the title were not provided, but WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley will be unveiling the title on Monday Night Raw. Dave Meltzer has said on Wrestling Observer Radio that the title will likely either be a Legends Championship or a new version of the Hardcore Championship, which could have the 24/7 defense rule just like the older versions of the title had. There’s no word on what the rules of the possible Legends Championship would entail. Fans won’t have to wait long to see the title since they will be able to see WWE’s new mystery championship for themselves during Raw later on tonight.
