Anonymous WWE Star Rants on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

By MarcMiddleton 2/21/2012

John Cena

With The Rock making his much anticipated return to RAW next Monday, John Cena had harsh words for "The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment" on this week's show, saying he's no longer The People's Champion, but he's a champion with people (referring to the entourage around him). After strongly criticizing The Rock for returning, but not sticking around WWE, Cena vowed to beat the iconic grappler in his hometown of Miami, Florida at WrestleMania.

A number of WWE performers appeared giddy backstage over Cena's remarks as they legitimately feel that way over the actor/wrestler. One talent commented via text to PWInsider.com (with permission to be quoted under the condition of anonymity): "[The Rock] comes in to use WWE to get back the audience he lost doing Disney movies, which is fine but he's been back over a year and name one person he helped make a bigger star since then? No one.

"He's here for himself, he keeps to himself, and he keeps someone who's actually touring here all year from making a bigger payday at the bigger shows. It's all about making this the "biggest" Mania of all time. OK, then what do we do the rest of the year? Who's been made? You think he took ANY blame for Survivor [Series] not drawing? Of course not, but how do you feud with a guy on the Titantron? Cena nailed the guy dead on tonight.

"Say anything about HHH, Taker, etc. still being in the top spot but if they were needed to work the road, they would and they would still work their asses off as much as they needed to. Rock is out for Rock and the idea he's here to better anything but his own wallet is the biggest work of 2012."

When a person rants like that its off legitimate jealousy of the success of the other who theyre ranting on. Why shouldnt The Rock be for himself? Look at that WWE company do you actually think they give a damn where your career goes after everything is over? No, The Rock elevated himself and most wrestlers in the WWE cant even do that. Hell, most are not even stars.  They are JUST there to put on a show. None of them can compete with the time when The Rock was really there every day. They cant compete with that time because they dont have the heart for the business like that. They claim they do but really are there wasting their contracts out not being used right or just not giving the best they got. I don’t want to make it sound like a defense but looking at The Rock’s moves he’s done it bigger than most who attempted… especially bigger than John Cena when it comes down to just entertainment stardom. All of that jealousy is the reason why WWE can’t grow with talent because you have these little pissants  b*tching upset at some guy who can leave for 7yrs and come back and still get a huge crowd pop, none the less still can wrestle. Survivor Series PPV just didn’t make sense because how can you “MAKE” stars who can’t even build their self? It’s like you can’t help somebody who has no clue about their own potential. So just thinking that Rock is suppose to come back and build Wrestlers who aren’t sh*t in the ring and blank charisma is just not going to happen. The wrestlers these days can’t even meet half way with ability to build themselves up.  Its a terrible time of b*tchassness coming out of grown ass men in Wrestling.

nevermore I totally agree....

but let's first talk about john cena.... whether it was all kayfabe or not, cena cut a damn good promo, last night.... my only problem with cena.... is that he keeps on saying the rock's not here, he sold out.... blah, blah, blah, blah..... this needs to be known.... the rock took the WWE and professional wrestling to heights that we have never seen before....  the rock did everything in the wwe.... he headlined wrestlemania with austin, won championships, etc.... he did everything for the wwe..... now the rock moves on to another profession.... and because he did that wrestlers want to hate him.... that's the only ammo cena's got on the rock.

now to the anonymous wrestler..... jealousy is ugly.... so please stop it..... let's see what the rock has done in less than a year.

the rock guest hosting wrestlemania 27..... gave the wwe over 940,000 ppv buys.

the wwe announcing that the rock was going to team up with cena at survivor series.... made madison square garden sell out in 4 hours.

and because the rock is going against cena at mania.... I guarantee you a million ppv buys.

the rock is bringing more viewers/ more money to the WWE..... which means more people are watching the younger/ mid card wrestlers..... so if the rock wants to keep to himself and saty with his entourage.... than let him.

I'm sick and tired of hearing this bullsh## about people being jealous of the rock.... and that's including cm punk, randy orton and these anonymous wrestlers... it's disgusting.

You know for people to come on here who have never step foot in a wrestling ring and and call somebody who has jealous for ranting on the rock this person has step foot in a wrestling ring and actually performed has ever right to rant on the rock and what they said was right on . Don't get me wrong  the rock was one time great but isn't it time for him to step back and let someone else shine at wm and while it's not all the rock's fault mined you I blame vince/hhh as well.

instead of writing an hour to debate, simply its not jealousy, i dont think anybody is debating his contributions, i dont think anybody doesnt recognize that the rock has solidified himself as a legend.

The argument is in his words lately, he has said hes back, he has said that WWE is home.  since that  point he hasnt been aaround, hasnt worked to push anyone else  using his legendary status, he has been just working in silence, and cutting promos on cena from far off.  You cant debate that since his "return" he hasn't helped anyone.  The only people hes wrestled is miz and Truth, and if you watched that match, he didn't do much...

Simply put, your arguments are invalid.

He did take WWE to new heights. I don't think anyone including Cena ever denied that. I think Cena's problem as well as others including some fans is that Rock just left. He never came back, never really got involved with WWE in any capacity. Sure, he mentioned WWE & wrestling in general here & there in interviews. But that's about it. Now, and this is in the minds of Cena, some fans and the guy above, after Disney flops, he comes back to get attention, get the people he lost during those Disney films and to make money. And probably to capitalize on the fact that WM is in Miami.

My problem is despite not being in WWE for 7 years, he closed SSeries and despite not being at WM since 2004 aside from hosting last year, he will likely close out WM if Taker & HHH do not. If that is the case, I think it is bad because I don't think Rock & Cena or anyone will be able to follow HIAC. If anything goes on after HIAC, it will be what I call The WM25 Effect. If you saw that ppv, you'll know what I mean.

But just cause I have those small problems doesn't mean I'm not glad to see him back because I damn sure am. It's because of his return, WWE, even though they are still PG, using foul language. If you recall, before his return, when anyone used foul language, it was beeped. Only exception was when Cena via satellite I believe told Punk he was gonna kick his & the rest of New Nexus' asses. Ever since Rock's return last year, WWE has been "edgy" PG constantly in terms of certain things despite the obvious absence of blood. And because of Rock, Cena brought back his freestyles for a while last year. And Cena has been cutting some of the best promos of his career ever ever since Rock's return and feuds with Punk and Kane. So Rock's got a lot to be credited for.

@ mr.unholy- I'm sure vinnie mac, stephanie and hhh love the fact that the rock is back.... it's damn good for business.... look, dwayne johnson is doing three things right now without being in the ring.... he's selling merchandise, he's bringing in more viewers via twitter and appearances, and he's making john cena known to non wrestling fans.... just because the rock is to himself backstage.... doesn't give wrestlers the fact to make anonymous quotes to the news media..... does it? those are hater's and people who are jealous.

@ the guy who has the world of warcraft pic- he said that he was back last year and smart fans need to know what he meant.... he disappeared for 7 years.... what he meant was that he was back (like austin, piper or micahels or if the wwe ever needed him).... for 7 years, he pretend that the wwe didn't exist anymore.... and hell he didn't even want to be called the rock anymore.... I think that's all changed and I THINK that's what he meant.

and has the rock helped anyone? no, but again, he's bringing in more viewers... going to jay leno and saying that he's wrestling at wrestlemania....  doesn't helps the wrestlers but he is helping the WWE.

I'm done talking about this....

I get what you're saying and to some degree I agree but the fact that he's wrestling at wm doesn't really bother me it's the fact that he only there for the buy-rates and that vinnie mac and hhh doesn;t have that much faith in some of wwe younger talents to pull off good enough buy-rates is what makes me shake my head.

Why should The Rock help those crappy wrestlers these days? The Rock made himself. While these guys are going around complaining about “he left us” sh*t Austin left too because he didn’t want to put over crappy ass Brock Lesnar when Vince was so hot for that beefcake freak which actually turned out to be a bad idea; after giving Brock all of that exposure he became the one to walk out and also sh*t on WWE in recent interviews.  I see it like this: When you move up there’s always those crabs in the bucket wanting to bring you down because they’re getting nowhere, they would feel better to criticize what they couldnt accomplish to make themselves feel better.  They expect something back, but what really does The Rock owe to those clowns? They go out of their way to criticize then what should be given to them? Nothing! Its that kind of situation when you keep to yourself and shine alone. B/c those losers don’t respect what got you there; they just want to feed off it. Rock doesn’t have to be like Hogan and come back to feed off a hot superstar. He’s just one of those guys that got it and with that territory comes with a lot of envy.

My problem with all of this talk is that NO ONE on the WWE ROSTER has seen the SUCCESS in the movies like the Rock has soooooo until they do then they can not say what they would or would not do period.  Like most of you have said The Rock has done it ALL then he found a way to make MORE money and work literally a third of the time.  Who in there right mind wouldn't do that,,,,,,,,,,,anyone,,,,,,,,,,any takers!  I was the biggest Rock fan before the movies and I completely understood when he left and now I'm glad he's back with the wwe even if it is 1-3 times a year.  Sry but like some of you have said,,,,,Cena has to say more then you left the wwe universe and you left me as well.

Plugs,,,,really,,,Plugs!  Former Wrestlers ALWAYS come back to do plugs for any and everything.  The Rock didn't even promote Fast Five like Cena said BUT the Rock did promote his twitter & facebook page.  Mick Foley comes back and promotes books all the time,,,,,,Shawn Michaels just came back for a week and got his nature show promoted,,,,,please if this is the best Cena can do then please and this is the only time I will EVER say this but please can the writers please help Cena out.  OMFG  I think hell just froze over.
