New WWE Signing, NXT Wrestlers to Miss Evolution, Khabib in WWE?

It appears that WWE has just gained a brand new Performance Center recruit. According to a report from PWInsider, WWE has officially signed former Ring of Honor TV Champion Punishment Martinez to an NXT contract, and he is expected to report to Orlando, Florida later on this month. Martinez left ROH a few weeks ago, which quickly started rumors that he was on his way to WWE. Punishment Martinez is currently 36-years-old and had been competing for ROH ever since he was originally signed to a contract in 2016. Martinez was trained in the Monster Factory in New Jersey before wrestling in Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling, but he will be starting a huge new chapter in his career very soon.
When the all-women's Evolution pay-per-view was originally announced by Stephanie McMahon, she noted that over fifty women would be competing on that show. On WWE television lately, the company has made no mention of that figure, and that is likely because quite a few women have been pulled from the event. According to the Wrestling Observer, several roster members from the NXT brand will not be given the chance to compete on Evolution later this month. It was originally believed that each active member of the NXT women's division would be wrestling at Evolution. While a number of NXT Superstars are advertised to appear at Evolution, don't expect all of them to be announced for the event.
The outcome to the main event of UFC 229 was quite different to what MMA fans are used to, but to wrestling fans, it was all too common. It's easy to see parallels to WWE when Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor before ending the event with an enormous post-fight brawl. Interestingly, Khabib took to Twitter today to outright teased that WWE may be interested in bringing him in soon. He even suggested going after former Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. Since plenty of fans have already drawn comparisons between the UFC 229 main event to the world of sports entertainment, perhaps it is completely possible that Nurmagomedov could step into a pro wrestling ring in the not too distant future.
