WWE Monday Night Raw

WWE RAW is live tonight from AllState Arena in the Windy City. Here's the latest from WWE to get you ready for the show:

Former D-Generation X partners Triple H and Shaun Michaels will headline the show in addressing the Brothers of Destruction - Kane and Undertaker - who laid waste to them after Triple H beat Undertaker at the Super Show-Down in Australia this weekend. This will set up Michaels' anticipated in-ring return for Crown Jewel and going forward. RAW Women's Champ and The Bellas will continue their feud with Riott Squad. The Shield and Braun Strowman's "Pack" will keep their bad blood going as well as WWE seemingly is hinting at a Dean Ambrose heel turn. Bobby Lashley will face more issues with KO and Elias, and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus will make an appearance to hype her match with Alexa Bliss at Evolution.

RAW Opening Segment

Triple H and Shawn Michaels come out to start the show. Triple H is using his King of Kings theme and wore jeans and a leather jacket. They were both cheered.

Triple H starts, saying twenty-five years is a long time to climb the mountain, but you climb it because it’s the biggest, baddest mountain in the world, and inch by inch, year by year, you climb that mountain, and he and Shawn should be standing on top of the world today, because on Saturday in Australia, they made it to the top, but the avalanche that covered them after makes them wonder if that mountain was a lie the entire time.

This segues to a still-pic-and-commentary recap of the match and its aftermath from Super Show-Down. Hunter says respect is a word that’s lost significance, and it’s not something he and Michaels give easily, it takes a lot to earn it. Like when someone you idolize takes you under their wing from day one, that’s respect. When you fight everyone and everything together, that’s respect.

Respect is when you stick to your word even though everyone tells you not to, make every opportunity for you not to, but you stick to your word, THAT is respect. Shawn takes the mic and says sometimes you respect who someone used to be, what they used to represent and then it dawns on you that respect is no longer a two-way street. He doesn’t know how many have made the flight from Melbourne to Chicago, but it’s a long way, and he had plenty of time to sit there and think.

To think about the beatdown they took at Super Show-Down and a long time to sit there and think about the last eight and a half years. Eight and a half long years that he’s sat there and honored his word out of respect, a respect that never existed at all! When those wheels touched down in Chicago, that door opened, he was about to walk off the plane and HHH said three words to him he never thought he’d hear again-- Are you ready?

But that question isn’t for Shawn, because he knows he is, the question is for the Brothers of Destruction-- Crown Jewel, the question is are you ready?! HBK says it, D-Generation X is ready! Kane and the Undertaker, he says this with absolutely no respect at all, if they’re not down with that, they got two words for him... SUCK IT! D-GENERATION X ARE BACK!

They pose as the DX theme plays. Crotch chops are involved.

Commentary hypes up our Super Show-Down rematches for later tonight as well as Trish Stratus’ return and a Bobby Lashley vs. Kevin Owens match to send us to break.

Bobby Lashley vs Kevin Owens

Circling, collar and elbow and Lashley immediately shoves Owens to the mat. Back to the lockup, same result, so Kev rolls to the floor and Lio Rush gets on the mic to talk up how KO isn’t ready and tell Bobby to stick to the plan. Owens with a waistlock, shift to a side headlock, shot off, shoulder block knocks him down and Walking Armageddon flexes while Lio puts him over.

Right hands into the corner, clubbing away, whip across but KO sidesteps the charge, off the ropes, leapfrog, low bridge, Bob to the floor and Kev cracks a right hand across his face when he leaps up on the apron! Lashley sidesteps a dive, Owens stops short, hops out of the ring and hits a hard right hook! He gets distracted by Rush and Bob runs him over with a lariat while Lio talks his client up and shows the crowd how to cheer for Lashley.

Back inside, Owens sends Bobby to the floor with a lariat and slingshots to the apron, leaping over a lariat, kick to the face, back inside and then action spills out of the ring again. Trading punches on the floor, Lashley in control, sending KO staggering and he whips him into the barricade but Kev sidesteps a charge and we go to break.

Back from commercial and Lashley is well in control with a sleeper hold locked on. Owens fights to his feet and fires back elbows off but he can’t break away at first. Getting free with an elbow to the jaw, he gets an elbow up on the charge, sidestep another, he rolls to the floor and gets in Lio Rush’s face! Chasing him around the ring, he catches up to to Lio but Bob takes advantage and clubs him before whipping him hard into the steps!

Demanding he never touch him, Rush orders Lashley to put the boots to him and Walking Armageddon throws him into the steel steps! Back inside, punching him in the corner, a lariat, a shoulder thrust, front chancery applied but Owens slips out and throws forearms! Off the ropes, Bobby catches him with the thrust spinebuster and poses while Lio demands everyone look at his strength and power.

Up in the delayed vertical... NOPE! Full nelson applied, Kevin struggling in the middle of the ring, stomping at his feet, a back elbow frees him and he takes Bob’s block off with a superkick... STUNNER! ONLY A NEARFALL, STONE COLD’S GONNA BE SO MAD! Owens heads up top but Rush jaws at him and Lashley’s able to cut him off and get him hung up in the corner!

A boot to the knee sets him free, KO hobbles around the ring and Bob kicks his leg out of his leg! Up on one shoulder and Lashley hits a Yokosuta Cutter for the victory.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

Post-match, Lashley returns to the ring and chop blocks Owens! He drags him to the ringpost and wraps his knee around it a few times while referee Chad Patton tries to wave him off! Lashley poses on the turnbuckles before taking his leave with Leo Rush.

Commentary breaks the WWE World Cup that will be taking place at Crown Jewel down, and tosses to a video package on one man that doesn’t have to qualify for it, the arguable greatest of all time, John Cena. They discuss our qualifiers, including a “global battle royal” later tonight.

Elias is in the ring to sing us a song as we go to break.

Backstage with Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush

Back from commercial, Finn Balor and Bayley are interviewed backstage about their match against Jinder Mahal and Alicia Fox later tonight.

Balor says he doesn’t think they’re even on the same planet, and Bayley says individually they’re tough, but together they’re too worried about who’s the captain to fight them. They list famous pairings that they’re like when Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley roll up, Lio chanting for Bob. He asks if we saw what his man did to Kevin Owens just now, and says this is the scoop right here.

Lashley objects to talking about hugs when he ripped KO into pieces, and Rush says his words and Bob’s power, now that’s Too Sweet. They fist bump like cool bros and leave.

Ladies and Gentleman, Elias

Cut back to Elias in the ring, ready to sing us a song. He plays a sweet guitar solo before launching into a variation of his usual spiel and says that the way things went down in Australia wasn’t his fault and he’s got a song about it for us. He starts playing, and the song is about he was distracted by John Cena’s hair and almost refused to do the show because of the Australian accents, but partway through he gets cut off...

Enter Ronda Rousey, ready for her trios rematch from Super Show-Down, but before we can see it, we toss to a video package covering WWE’s efforts to promote breast cancer awareness and go to break.

WWE RAW Women's Champ Ronda Rousey & The Bellas vs. Riott Squad

Liv and Brie to start, circling before getting in each other’s faces and Morgan hauls off and slaps her face off! Bella with a leg kick, but Liv ducks the opening Yes! Kick and takes her down for grounded punches! They roll around the mat throwing hands and roll to the floor where their teammates break them up! Rousey and Logan tag in, Ronda with the arm drag and the Squad roll to the floor to regroup as we go to break.

Back from commercial and Riott is in control on Nikki, but Bella manages to turn things around with a spinebuster! Off the ropes, clotheslines, a dropkick, fired up, charging clothesline, to the second for the springboard roundhouse kick... NOPE! Tag to Brie, double team single knee facebreakers, but the Riott Squad yank their leader to the floor where she hits an STO after Bella follows!

Back inside, a cover gets two, tag to Morgan, putting boots to Nikki, quick tag to Logan, drawing her up for a snapmare before locking the cobra clutch on, but it doesn’t last and Bella slings her off. Basement shoulder block, whip into a hip toss and Sarah howls before hitting the sliding knee for a nearfall! Tag to Liv, she comes in with a kick but it’s only good for another two so she tags Ruby in.

Riott in with a kick to the ribs, again just two so she follows it up with a cravate before throwing Nikki to her wolves and distracting Ronda to keep referee Rod Zapata busy. Nikki clears the apron, missile dropkick connects, crawling... Tag made! Rousey in hot, big knee but Riott uses her momentum for a schoolboy pin... so close! Champion fired up, lefts and rights into knees into the corner, tossing her aside, fireman’s carry... Swinging death valley driver!

Wristlock applied, she steps over and falls back after the Bella Twins cut the Squad off and Rousey locks in the arm bar on Ruby for the victory:

Winner: Ronda Rousey & The Bellas

The babyface trio celebrate, raising each other’s arms... UNTIL THE BELLAS TURN ON HER! PUTTING BOOTS TO HER IN THE CORNER. BUT RONDA MANAGES TO COME BACK AND FENDS BRIE OFF! Nikki charges in but Rousey gets the judo throw and she heads for the floor! The champion follows after her and gets in her face yelling but Bella throws her into the post!

Referees swarm to break it up but the Bellas throw Ronda into the steel steps! Throwing her face-first into the floor, drawing her up again and Nikki throws her into the barricade! They drag the champion into the ring to stand on her unconscious body and pose for the cameras before Nikki grabs the title belt and drapes it over her as they leave.

We go to break with the camera focused on a shocked Ronda Rousey.

Alicia Fox & Jinder Mahal vs. Bayley & Finn Balor

Balor and Mahal to start, Jinder with a body slam that gets one and he follows it with a reverse chinlock, staying on Finn and keeping him grounded. Shift to a side headlock, shot off, sunset flip into the basement dropkick and Balor’s back in it but Fox tags herself and Bayley in. Finn uses Bayley as a weapon and she snaps a Frankensteiner off on Mahal as we go to break!

Back from commercial and Fox is in control on Bayley with a reverse chinlock and a mat slam. Stomps to the arm and ankle follow, a forearm to the face, only good for two and she shifts to a waistlock momentarily. Hair pull to block the tag but the Hugger manages to sling her through the ropes, the way is clear and she throws Alicia out the far side before getting the tag!

Finn in hot, elbows all over the place, double leg into the double stomp and he’s fired up! Mahal in the corner, Balor hits a charging chop, whip reversed, up and over and Jinder lands a superkick! Up top, Finn cuts him off, bids he rise, Sling Blade blocked but Balor comes off the ropes and hits the inverted headlock elbow drop for a cover... FOX BREAKS IT UP!

Bayley knocks Sunil Singh off the apron, drags Alicia out and Finn lands an enzuigiri from the apron, up top and Balor hits a Coup De Grace to finish off Mahal.

Winner: Bayley & Finn Balor

Commentary hypes up Trish Stratus and Dogs of War vs. Shield II.

Dogs of War Start In-Fighting

We go backstage with the Dogs of War, where Dolph Ziggler is giving his teammates a pep talk, telling Braun Strowman to be the monster and Drew McIntyre to be the man, but Drew cuts him off and says he’s getting sick of Dolph trying to call the shots when he’s the guy that got pinned in Australia. So just maybe he should start worrying about pulling his own weight around here.

The tag champs bicker but Braun roars and cuts him off, reminding them they’re here to watch his back so he can win the title for the best for all of them, and they’re gonna put the Shield down together tonight, with no further excuses from either of them.

Baron Corbin is walking backstage when he runs into Heath Slater, who wants a chance to represent West Virginia in the global battle royal for a spot in the World Cup tonight. Baron says he appreciates that he wants a spot, but there’s one problem, he’s just not any good.

On that note, we go to break.

Baron Corbin Intros the Global Battle Royal Qualifier

Baron Corbin makes his entrance to address the gathered superstars of the Global Battle Royal. He asks if the crowd knows that Crown Jewel is shaping up to be historic, and one of the things it features is WWE World Cup, and he could have just put himself in the tournament, but he’s going to prove he belongs by winning this global battle royal. He puts over the talent in the ring as being like if the Avengers and the Justice League combined forces, and he wants to introduce all of them.

Gregor “the Sickle” Valken from Russia, the Sultan of Shawarma from Egypt, El Hombre Sin Nombre from Mexico (who I believe is indie star Robert “Ego” Anthony), the Squeezer, a Chilean guy whose name I can’t transcribe, Dr. Lindsen van Voorhees from Antartica, Franz the Belgian Waffler from Belgium, Spain’s great champion the Conquistador, and the Master of the Bronze Claw, Thunder Montgomery from Luxemburg.

And of course, Baron Corbin representing the United States.

Global Battle Royal

Corbin finds himself surrounded as he takes his vest off but he manages to fend all of them off and start eliminating them one by one. He dumps the Antarctic dude, El Hombre Sin Nombre, Mr. Chile, the Egyptian dude, Thunder Montgomery is last but he gets dumped and Corbin celebrates... except the Conquistador is still legal! He begs off on the floor and Baron slides out after him!

Conquistador back inside, he shuffles a little, and the rolling German suplexes sure look familiar! Jumping jacks... ANGLE SLAM! Front roll, off the ropes, he clotheslines Corbin to the floor and the Conquistador is the last man standing to qualify for the WWE World Cup at Crown Jewel.

Winner: The Conquistador...aka KURT ANGLE!

Post-match, he takes his mask off... IT’S KURT ANGLE, BACK FROM THE CRUSADES HIS VACATION!

Baron throws a fit while the Olympic gold medalist celebrates, and we go to break on a hype reel for tomorrow night’s edition of Mixed Match Challenge.

Backstage, Kurt Angle rolls into an interview and says he’s technically still on vacation before walking off.

Ember Moon vs. Nia Jax

Handshake, off the ropes, Jax blocks the arm drag and swats Moon to the mat. Sidestep the charge, probing kicks, an enzuigiri staggers Nia but she manages to shove Ember away on the crossbody! Stinger Splash, a biel, but Moon manages to grab a sleeper hold! Jax slings her off, blocks a forearm, whip... EMBER WITH THE FRANKENSTEINER! A baseball slide sends Nia out of the ring, Moon off the ropes... SUICIDE DIVE BUT JAX STANDS FIRM!

Going for another, Nia yanks her out of the ring! Military press to follow, Moon slips away but Jax biels her! Charging in... Ember sidesteps, Nia takes the apron hard, referee John Cone is counting, Moon slides back in and beats the count, but Nia does not.

Winner: Ember Moon by Count Out

Nia returns to the ring and hugs her before raising her hand in the spirit of good sportsmanship.

Commentary hypes Trish Stratus up and we go to break.

Trish Stratus Segment

Back from commercial, Trish Stratus makes her entrance.

She gets on the mic and says we’ll be making history at Evolution in three weeks, and she wants to talk about Alexa Bliss’ Moment of Bliss last week, which sounded to her like a moment of BS, so she figured she’d enlighten her with a moment of Stratusfaction.

Enter Alexa Bliss and Mickie James. Bliss questions the creativity of her idea before saying nobody cares what she has to say aside from these dullards, but Trish points out her math was off last week and that’s not the only place she comes up short. Alexa wants to put the insults aside for a second, admitting she’s got goosebumps and it’s an honor to be out here with a seven time champion and a Hall of Famer.

She’s seen her matches over and over, cheered her victories, and she can finally tell her, woman to woman, that she sucked. Like, really sucked, and she should be lucky Bliss wasn’t around back then because she would not be a seven-time champion, just an afterthought in Alexa’s shadow. Stratus questions the validity of this idea before inviting Bliss to step in the ring so they can do it right here in Chicago!

Bliss and James charge the ring but Mickie gets on the mic and says it’s not happening right here because these people don’t deserve it, and besides, she and Trish both know nothing good ever happens in Chicago. Stratus asks her to tell her little bestie firsthand what it feels like to wrestle her and that she’s gonna take care of business just like that at Evolution.

She says Alexa’s gonna feel a hall of fame beatdown at Evolution, but she’s got a better idea, and they’re gonna team up at the pay-per-view. Trish is into it and wonders aloud who could her partner be, and says it’s an EXTREMEly difficult decision... AND SHE INTRODUCES LITA! Lita slides in the ring and we’ve got a brawl! Bliss runs away and Lita decks Mickie with a right hand!

Trish lays her out with a roundhouse, Lita heads up top... BUT BLISS MAKES THE SAVE!

Shield Promo

The Shield get a handcam promo where they talk about how they won’t be broken, because they’re not an alliance or a friendship, they’re a brotherhood. Dean Ambrose tells the Dogs of War they might think they’re ruthless, but they’re not the bad guys, they are. Roman Reigns says it doesn’t matter where, when they meet, the story remains the same, and Seth Rollins says they’re the one true constant.

They’re the Hounds of Justice, they’re the Shield, believe that.

Bobby Roode & Chad Gable make their entrance to send us to break ahead of their match against the Ascension

Bobby Roode & Chad Gable vs. The Ascension

Konnor and Roode to start, the Wastelander throwing him into the corner and jawing at him. Bobby in with the side headlock, blocking the suplex, tag to Gable, Roo gets wiped out with a shoulder block but Chad hits a missile dropkick for two! The kickout sends him flying to the floor, right hand, back in and Viktor cuts him off with an uppercut for two!

Into the corner, chops and uppercuts, putting boots to the Olympian, making a cover after referee Dan Engler reprimands him and then he tags Konnor in. Uppercut, quick tag back, snap suplex for two and he follows it up with a top wristlock. Into a cover, no good, snapmare, a fist drop for two more, to the apron, Gable slides low, reaching but the Wastelander blocks the tag!

Rolling under a chop, tag made and Roode comes in hot with lariats! Manhattan Drop, chops into the corner, whip across, boots up, diving blockbuster connects and Bobby’s fired up! Konnor gets low bridged, Roode with the kick to the gut, DDT blocked, boots up on the corner, tag from Chad, waistlock and Chaos Theory on Viktor for the win.

Winners: Bobby Roode & Chad Gable

A stunned Roode looks on while Gable celebrates but here come the Authors of Pain! They wipe them out with clotheslines while DRAKE MAVERICK barks orders... double neckbreaker on Roode! Beating Viktor and Gable up... SUPER COLLIDER! DRAKE stands tall with his boys, stepping over the carnage.

Commentary hypes our main event up and we go to break on another hype reel for tomorrow’s Mixed Match Challenge.

Back from the break and the announcers confirm Nikki Bella vs. Ronda Rousey for Evolution. They go over the current cards for Evolution and Crown Jewel.

Paul Heyman Promo

Heyman introduces himself as the advocate for his client Brock Lesnar, who will do battle with Braun Strowman and champion Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Title at Crown Jewel. Heyman says he's here to see a fight tonight between The Shield and Strowman, Dolph Ziggler & Drew McIntyre. Heyman goes on and mentions Lesnar looking to become a dual champion in WWE and UFC. Braun goes over to the tag champions and yells at them, telling them to get their crap together. We go to commercial.

Back from the break and Braun dominates Reigns. Ziggler tags in and keeps control. Reigns ends up moving as Braun runs into the corner after he came back in. Reigns looks to make a comeback now. Reigns catches Braun in a Samoan Drop for a pop. Rollins tags in at the same time as Ziggler. Rollins with a Slingblade. Rollins nails a suicide dive to drop McIntyre on the floor. Back from the break and Braun is in control of Rollins in the ring. Braun drops Rollins with a headbutt. Braun keeps Reigns grounded now. Braun takes Rollins to the corner and rocks him. Drew tags in next and levels Rollins for a quick 2 count. Drew talks some trash and waits for Rollins to get up. Rollins fights back and drops Ziggler off the apron. Drew stops him from tagging and delivers a stiff kick to the face for another close 2 count. Ziggler tags back in and puts the boot to Rollins while he's down. Ziggler mocks and taunts Rollins, then boots him in the head. Fans try to rally for Rollins. Rollins catches a dropkick and catapults Ziggler into the turnbuckles.

Drew tags in and stops Rollins from tagging again. Rollins counters and takes chops from Drew but then drops him with an enziguri. Strowman tags in and knocks Rollins and Ambrose off the apron. Strowman sends Reigns into the steel ring steps. Strowman yells at Ziggler, telling him that's how you carry your weight, not this crap you've been pulling. Ziggler yells back. Braun grabs him by the throat. Drew comes in and gets in Braun's face, yelling back at him. Rollins comes from behind, sending Drew into Braun and rolling Drew up for a 2 count. Braun ends up on the outside. More chaos now. Ambrose finally gets the tag. He nails a suicide dive to Strowman and Drew on the floor. Ambrose with clotheslines on Drew out of the corner.
