NJPW G1 Climax 28 Night 17 Results (08/10): Tokyo, Japan

New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) recently held the seventeenth night of their G1 Climax 28 Event which emanated from The Legendary Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. The show was highlighted by EVIL taking on "Switchblade" Jay White in the co-main event and Hiroshi Tanahashi taking on Kazuchika Okada in the main event. The show featured competitors from The A Block going at it and trying to secure their positions for Sunday's finals. Below are the full results from the show:

Non-Tournament Matches:

- CHAOS (Tomohiro Ishii & SHO) def. Toa Henare & Shota Umino.

- Guerrillas Of Destiny ("The Bad Boy" Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) def. CHAOS (Toru Yano & Gedo).

- CHAOS (NEVER Openweight Champion Hirooki Goto & YOH) def. IWGP United States Champion Juice Robinson & David Finlay.

- Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito & SANADA) def. Suzuki-gun (Zack Sabre Jr. & Taka Michinoku).

- The Elite (IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega & IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) vs. Kota Ibushi, "The Villain" Marty Scurll & Chase Owens ended in a no contest when The Tongans made their way down to the ring and laid everyone out.

Tournament Matches (A Block):

- Togi Makabe def. Michael Elgin.

- YOSHI-HASHI def. Hangman Page.

- Minoru Suzuki def. Bad Luck Fale by DQ when Tama Tonga heads out to the ring and attacks Suzuki.

- EVIL def. "Switchblade" Jay White. Jay White losing means that he is now eliminated from the tournament. 

- Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada ended in a draw. With the draw, Tanahashi reaches 15 points, making him the winner of The A Block and giving him a spot in the finals. After the match, Tanahashi cut a promo, promising to win The G1 Finals. He then posed and met with people at ringside to close out the show.
