Extreme Rules Match Changed, Goldust Update, TNA Title For Sale
Wednesday, July 11, 2018
Extreme Rules will see a ton of matches from both brands in WWE compete against each other this weekend, and one of the matches that had been announced for the show was a match featuring Carmella defending the Smackdown Women's Championship against Asuka in a rematch from the Money in the Bank event last month. However, Smackdown General Manager Paige decided to add a bit of a stipulation to the match during the Smackdown show last night. In order to prevent any interference in the match, James Ellsworth will be suspended above the ring in a shark cage during the match. The match between Carmella and Asuka takes place at Extreme Rules this Sunday night.
As reported yesterday, Raw Superstar and wrestling veteran Goldust tweeted that he had recently underwent surgery in Birmingham, Alabama for some nagging injuries that he has been dealing with over the past few months. Not a whole lot of information concerning the injury was provided by Goldust at the time, but he has since posted more tweets online updating fans on his condition. Goldust says that he actually had two surgeries on both of his knees earlier this week, and he noted that both of the procedures were successful. There is still no word on how long Goldust is expected to be out of action for, but it does appear that he will definitely continue wrestling as soon as he possibly can.
It appears that one of the championship titles that had been used from back when Impact Wrestling was known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling is now for sale. Fans on Reddit have posted links to a listing for the TNA Television Championship title that has not been used since 2016. Although the title is mostly known for being the TV title, the promotion also rebranded the title as the Legends Championship, Global Championship, and King of the Mountain Championship. This former championship may be retired now, but the item can be purchased now for $17,500 for fans or collectors who would be interested in having the title in their homes.
