Ellsworth Update, MITB Heel Turn, Satomura in Mae Young Classic?

Earlier in the week, it was reported that WWE has decided to bring James Ellsworth back to the company after several pitches to bring him back came from the creative team. He had been set to appear at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view this Sunday, but Ellsworth was quick to point out that he has accepted an independent wrestling booking in China for that evening. However, China's Middle Kingdom Wrestling has just released a statement announcing that Ellsworth has cancelled his appearance on the show. This could very well indicate that Ellsworth's earlier messages were intended to be a red herring. Expect to see Ellsworth back on WWE programming as early as this Sunday night.

Fans may have noticed that Ronda Rousey and Natalya have been awfully chummy with each other on Raw in recent weeks. Natalya helped train Ronda when she transitioned from an MMA fighter to a professional wrestler, and they have also teamed up for some matches at a few WWE live events as well. Despite this, it is every woman for herself in the Money in the Bank ladder match, which is why Wrestling Observer Live has suggested that WWE may be planning to turn Natalya heel this Sunday night. The company could either have Natalya interfere in the match between Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax via a simple distraction or by winning the briefcase and cashing in during the match. Either way, the heel turn will likely result in Rousey losing the match.

There have already been a high number of participants who may be linked to the upcoming Mae Young Classic tournament this year. The show will reportedly feature participants such as Io Shirai, but there may be another Japanese standout on her way to WWE for the tournament this August. Tokyo Sports has reported that Meiko Satomura will be taking part in the second annual women's wrestling tournament. At 38-years-old, Satomura is a former World of Stardom Champion has is quite accomplished in the ring. Satomura also worked a few matches in WCW in the mid-90's, and she also founded her own all-women's wrestling promotion in Japan called Sendai Girls.

If Ellsworth returns at Money in the Bank PPV, it will remind him of last year's unhooking of the Women's Championship contract.... According to me, if Natalya provides a slight distraction in the Championship Match, it will not cost Rousey the match.
