Charlotte Cleared to Return, Nakamura/Styles Stip, WWE/UK Update
Tuesday, May 15, 2018
Charlotte Flair had quite a rough few days last week as she lost a rematch for the Smackdown Women's Championship to Carmella at Backlash, then underwent surgery to repair a ruptured breast implant, before later losing some of her teeth during a match at a WWE live event. Fortunately, all appears to be well now with Charlotte Flair. The former Raw and Smackdown Women's Champion revealed at the NBC Upfronts yesterday that she has been cleared to return to the ring. Flair also revealed that she is going back on WWE's ongoing European tour right now. Expect to see Flair back in action once again on tonight's edition of Smackdown in the O2 Arena in London.
Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles are not through with their feud by any means. What started as a friendly but competitive rivalry has turned personal over these past few weeks since Nakamura turned his back on Styles and the WWE fans. It was revealed earlier today by WWE that the two will face off tonight on Smackdown with the winner picking the stipulation for their upcoming WWE Championship rematch at Money in the Bank. While a Last Man Standing match had been the rumored stipulation, Cageside Seats now reports that the next match between Styles and Nakamura may end up being an Iron Man match. The stipulation for the match should be announced during tonight's edition of Smackdown.
Fans may have noticed that WWE has begun putting a major emphasis on their United Kingdom division once again. Another UK Championship Tournament will be taking place over the summer and UK stars have been appearing on WWE programming much more often lately. According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer, the announcement that World of Sport will be returning to ITV has once again forced WWE to lock some of England's best wrestlers into contracts. The Observer reports that Toni Storm, Joe Coffey, El Ligero. Travis Banks, Chris Brookes, Jinny, Dave Mastiff, Eddie Dennis, and possibly a few others are all currently in talks with WWE to join their UK division.
