Celebrity Inductee Officially Announced for the WWE Hall of Fame
Monday, March 12, 2018
WWE usually has a certain formula that they follow for when the put together their Hall of Fame classes every single year. Along with a headlining name, tag team, Warrior Award recipient, and female entrant, the company usually chooses to induct a celebrity into the Hall of Fame. This usually means that a celebrity who has had some involvement with WWE programming in the past enters the Hall of Fame. In the past, celebrities such as Snoop Dogg, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mr. T, and Mike Tyson have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, and it looks like WWE has just announced that another celebrity will be joining their Hall of Fame as part of this year's class of 2018.
After being rumored for the Hall of Fame for months now, it has just been confirmed that none other than Kid Rock will be joining the WWE Hall of Fame this year as the special celebrity inductee. WWE and Billboard broke the news earlier today, revealing that the musician will be joining this year's Hall of Fame class. Kid Rock is a famous American singer-songwriter who has been releasing music since the early '90s. The musician is a Grammy-nominated performer who has dabbled in rock, rap, and country music over the years. Kid Rock commented on the induction by saying, “the Hall of Fame ceremony will be a fun night and it will be great to see everyone again. I have so much respect for what those guys and girls do," before adding “I’m grateful to WWE for letting me be a part of WrestleMania weekend."
Kid Rock has been involved with WWE for a number of years now as he has provided several of his songs to be used for pay-per-view and entrance themes. Most famously, his song “American Bad Ass” served as The Undertaker's entrance theme during the year 2000. He also performed for WWE during WrestleMania 25 and the Tribute to the Troops event in 2012. His songs "New Orleans" and "Celebrate" also serve as the theme songs to this year's WrestleMania. Kid Rock will be joining Goldberg, Ivory, The Dudley Boyz, Hillbilly Jim, Jeff Jarrett, and Warrior Award recipient Jarrius "JJ" Robertson in the Hall of Fame this year. The Hall of Fame ceremony takes place on April 6th in the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
