Paige/Rumble Update, Surpises, Final Mixed Match Team Revealed
Wednesday, January 10, 2018
A few weeks back, Paige revealed that she will be entering the women's Royal Rumble match along with Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose. Some fans remained skeptical of Paige's in-ring future because of a recent injury that she suffered during a match against Sasha Banks. Paige has not competed in a match ever since she received the injury, but WWE has provided little information about it. According to a new report from PWInsider, Paige will likely be removed from the Royal Rumble match very soon due to her injuries. Expect the announcement of her removal from the match to be made at some point before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view takes place.
Ever since the women's Royal Rumble match was first announced, fans have been wondering which surprise entrants will be making a cameo in this historic match. After it was revealed that the match will consist of 30 participants, fans were guaranteed that there would be quite a number of surprises in the match. Two of those surprises may have been revealed thanks to a new report from PWInsider. The new report claims that WWE has reached out to Michelle McCool about a possible appearance in the match. It was also mentioned that former WWE women's wrestler Molly Holly appears to be partaking in the match. No word on any other surprise entrants at the moment.
WWE has been announcing the teams for their upcoming Mixed Match Challenge show all week long. The Facebook Watch series will see male superstars paired up with female superstars in a tag team tournament starting on January 16th. After weeks of unveiling the teams for the show, the final team has been confirmed. Fans were encouraged to vote for which member of the New Day they wanted to see team up with Carmella for the show. WWE announced earlier in the day that Big E was voted as the winner, and he will now be partnering up with "The Princess of Staten Island" on the show when it premieres next week.
