WrestleMania 35 News, Latest on Neville, Jericho at Royal Rumble?
Monday, January 8, 2018
WrestleMania 34 will be taking place extremely soon. This is usually the time when WWE announces where the next WrestleMania event will be held. According to a new report from PWInsider, WrestleMania 35 will currently be hosted somewhere in the Northeast part of the United States. The report mentions that WrestleMania 34 had been set to return to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey until the city of New Orleans offered WWE a better deal at the last minute. This has led to some speculation that plans for WrestleMania in 2019 may change. Regardless, WrestleVotes confirmed that the location for WrestleMania 35 will be announced later this month.
Neville was one of the brightest stars on 205 Live, so fans were disappointed to hear that he intends on leaving WWE soon. While discussions about a possible return did take place, it looks like any chance of a return is definitely over. Dave Meltzer has since revealed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Neville still is under contract to WWE at the moment, but he will not be returning to television. Apparently, something changed during contract negotiations that caused Neville not to return. WWE will reportedly not be releasing Neville, instead opting to wait until his contract expires. Meltzer was unable to verify when Neville's current WWE deal expires.
Chris Jericho had an incredible match against Kenny Omega when he returned to New Japan Pro Wrestling at the recent Wrestle Kingdom 12 event. After losing the match, several fans figured that Jericho would likely head back to WWE in time for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Instead, not only has he decided to continue competing for New Japan Pro Wrestling, but he will also be continuing his tour with his band Fozzy. Jericho is now booked for a show with Fozzy on the same night as the Royal Rumble. He is also scheduled for a show on the same night as WrestleMania 34, so do not expect to see Jericho back in WWE within the next few months.
