USA Today is featuring a story about Ronda Rousey moving closer to signing a deal with WWE, a move the article describes as being “imminent.”

The article notes that the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion appeared to have her final mixed martial arts fight last December at UFC 207, losing to Amanda Nunes. It was Rousey’s second MMA loss after a devastating knockout loss to Holly Holm a year prior.

“Two people close to Rousey told USA TODAY Sports that she is finalizing details of her move to WWE. The people requested anonymity because the switch has not been announced.”

Rousey has been involved with WWE in recent months, including attending the Mae Young Classic, various WWE TV tapings and live events. She has largely been supporting friend and former MMA fighter Shayna Baszler, who has also come to terms on a deal with WWE and will be debuting shortly in NXT.

UFC President Dana White seemed to rule out Rousey ever making a return to the octagon again for the UFC in the near future after two losses in a row.

“I wouldn’t want to see it. I wouldn’t want it to happen. I care about her. She has got money … and all that stuff. I don’t want to see it happen.”

WWE did not immediately respond when reached for comment by USA Today.
