Tuesday, November 14, 2017
Former Cruiserweight Champion Neville has not been seen on WWE television at all ever since he reportedly chose to leave WWE because he was unhappy and believed he could succeed on the independent circuit. Neville has not been released by WWE yet, but he may not have to be. PWInsider claims that the two have sides have had some "positive discussions" as of late. It is possible that he could be coming back very soon. Reports of him leaving because he refused to lose to Enzo Amore are said to be false as both men seem to have respect for each other. There is currently no word on when Neville may be expected back if he is returning at all.
Impact Wrestling has seen a ton of talent leave the promotion as of late. Whether it's Rockstar Spud, Reno Scum, Bram, or all of their contracted referees, several talents have departed the company this year. It appears as though the tradition will be continuing as five more departures have been made official. More cuts have officially been made to the Impact roster as the company has officially removed several profiles from their website. Alisha Edwards, Swoggle, Mahabali Shera, Wilcox, and Mayweather have all been released from the promotion. Most of these names have not competed on television for Impact Wrestling in several months.
WWE has been capitalizing on nostalgia for former WCW events over the past several months now. WWE will be bringing back former WCW pay-per-view Starrcade as an upcoming live event, and NXT will also be hosting their first ever WarGames match this Saturday at Takeover in Houston. It looks like the NXT brand is going to continue utilizing former WCW concepts. PWInsider reports that Atlanta's Center Stage, the former home of WCW Saturday Night, will be hosting some NXT events in 2018. It is also being said that WWE is currently planning on taping a few weeks of NXT television from the venue when they visit it next year.
