New Basic WWE Figures Announced, & Target NXT Series 2 Figures!
Thursday, October 19, 2017
Ringside Collectibles has listed a ton of upcoming new WWE basic series lineups. Mattel will be coming out with series 78, 79, and 80 of their basic action figures very soon. After releasing series 77 recently, basic 78 will consist of Shane McMahon, The Rock, Braun Strowman, AJ Styles, Natalya, and Kevin Owens. Despite their recent WWE departures, it appears that series 79 will still include new figures of Nia Jax and Neville, as well as TJP, Baron Corbin, Samoa Joe, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Meanwhile, it has been announced that series 80 will consist of Rich Swann, Sasha Banks, Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, and Brock Lesnar. All three sets of figures are due to be released by December.
Earlier this year, Target brought collectors the very first line of action figures specifically dedicated to WWE's NXT brand. The line seems to have done well enough to garner a second series. Series two of basic and Elite NXT figures can now be found in Target stores. The basic series consists of a new figure for former WWE Superstar Eva Marie, as well as first-ever editions of Bobby Roode, and Authors of Pain members Akam and Rezar. All four of the new action figures come with a piece that will create an NXT announcer's table when assembled. You can begin searching for the new set of basic action figures in Target right now!
Interestingly enough, series two of the Elite NXT figures features an entire lineup of wrestlers no longer in NXT. Shinsuke Nakamura arrives with black ring attire and a new jacket, while future Raw Superstar Asuka is made in immensely-decorated gear and her signature ring mask. Meanwhile, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson of The Revival receive their first Elite figures in this exclusive lineup, and both wrestlers come with the old school NXT Tag Team Championships that they held on two separate occasions. On a side note, a cancelled Hall of Fame 4-pack featuring Kevin Nash, Eddie Guerrero, Scott Hall, and Larry Zbyszko is being sold online and in Target stores now, but no reason has been given for its sudden release.
