Update on Neville Rumors, The Shield Reunion Said to be Brief
Wednesday, October 11, 2017
It was reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet yesterday that there was truth to some of the rumors that Neville has left WWE. Neville was not present on last night's 205 Live show or the lumberjack cruiserweight title match on Raw this past Monday night. F4WOnline later reported that Neville walked out before the most recent Raw show began, and Kalisto took his spot in a match against Enzo Amore on the show. Neither side has officially commented on the rumors of Neville's departure, but the speculation concerning Neville's status with WWE has only grown since the rumors first began. What exactly is going on with the "King of the Cruiserweights?"
A new report now claims that Neville is not leaving WWE at the moment. PWInsider says that they have now spoken with multiple sources on the matter, and they claim that Neville has not left the company. This would go against the previous report put out by Pro Wrestling Sheet. This does not necessarily mean that Neville did not ask for his release. He very well could have, but WWE may have chosen not to grant it. Neville is still listed as a member of the WWE roster, so it is very possible that they may not have released Neville yet, that is, if he even asked to be released at all. For right now though, the belief is that Neville is still employed by WWE.
After years of being apart and achieving success as singles stars, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose have once again joined forces to reform The Shield. The group will be taking on Braun Strowman, Cesaro, Sheamus, and The Miz in a 4-on-3 handicap TLC match at the Tables, Ladders, and Chairs pay-per-view. Even though it has literally taken years for The Shield to get back together, do not expect the team to last long. Cageside Seats reports that the reunion will likely be over before the year ends. The long-term plans still call for Roman Reigns to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship in the main event of Wrestlemania 34 in New Orleans.
