Conor McGregor to Appear at Wrestlemania? Women's Match, Mysterio
Tuesday, October 10, 2017
Conor McGregor is currently one of the biggest stars in the world of MMA, and he is known for being one of the most outspoken fighters on the planet as well. He has had plenty to say about professional wrestling in the past, but he appears to be coming over to WWE soon. The UK Sun reports that Conor is in talks with WWE to compete at Wrestlemania in New Orleans. McGregor is said to be a fan of pro wrestling, and those in WWE, like Stephanie McMahon, have said that he would be a "perfect fit" for the company. No other reports have verified the matter, but Conor McGregor's WWE debut could be coming as early as April 2018.
Last night's Raw saw a Fatal 5-Way match between some of Raw's greatest female talent. The winner of the match earned to right to face the debuting Asuka at the TLC pay-per-view. PWInsider reports that the original plan was to have a triple threat match between Emma, Nia Jax, and Alicia Fox take place in order to determine Asuka's opponent. The change was a last minute one as the triple threat match also wasn't supposed to take place until next week, but WWE decided to go through with the Fatal 5-Way match in order to promote Emma's match against Asuka next week. No word on if anyone other than Emma was ever scheduled to win the match.
Kalisto shocked the world last night when he defeated Enzo Amore to win the Cruiserweight Championship for the first time in his career. Before the match began, Kalisto let the world know that he was dedicating the match to Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero, and the match took place on the latter's birthday as well. It was the very first time that a cruiserweight match was given the main event of Raw, something pointed out in a tweet by Rey Mysterio congratulating Kalisto on his impressive victory. The plan is for Kalisto to defend the title in a rematch against Amore at TLC. Whatever happens in that match cannot take away the fact that Kalisto made one of his idols proud last night.
