Mattel Reveals Several New WWE Action Figures and Toys - Part 3
Saturday, October 07, 2017
Mattel has been on an unstoppable roll these past few days as they have been continuously revealing brand new sets of WWE action figures and toys that are set to be released by early 2018. They have concluded their big unveiling in grand fashion as well, because they have shown off their first ever action figure of one the most legendary WWE performers in history, but more on him later. Right now, let's focus on the upcoming Wrestlemania line, which will be released in spring. The basic set of figures is rumored to feature Bayley, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Mojo Rawley, and the Big Show. While the lineup hasn't been confirmed yet, one of the figures, Seth Rollins, was displayed, and he will be based on his Wrestlemania 33 appearance.
Battle Packs featured in the upcoming Wrestlemania line also have not been fully revealed yet, but there will be three different sets being released. One of them will be new editions of John Cena and Nikki Bella. The couple not only won their mixed tag team match at Wrestlemania earlier this year, but John Cena shocked the world by proposing to his girlfriend live in the ring after their win. Fans can now celebrate the moment with these two figures together.
As always, there cannot be a set of WWE action figures without the popular Elite lineup accompanying it. These are Mattel's most detailed and articulated action figures, and they usually come with a couple of accessories appropriate to the wrestlers in the set. In this case, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake is having his Wrestlemania IX "Mega Maniacs" attire recreated here. The figure is expertly-crafted, and it includes a shirt, wrist gauntlets, mask, and, of course, barber shears. Other figures rumored to join Brutus in the Elite series include John Cena, Kevin Owens, and Randy Orton, but those figures have not been confirmed by Mattel or WWE as of yet.
One of the best action figures has been saved for last. Kurt Angle will finally be hitting store shelves as part of the relaunched Entrance Greats series. The figure is based off of Angle's WWF debut in 1999, and it sees Angle recreated as an Elite figure with a dashing headsculpt, a full head of hair, accurate red, white, and blue ring attire, and his two Olympic gold medals. As if that was not special enough, Entrance Greats figures also include a unique display stand with a button that plays the entrance theme of the WWE Superstar that the figure is based on!
The Wrestlemania figures will likely be released in early 2018, perhaps the spring in order to go along with Wrestlemania season. Kurt Angle's Entrance Great figure should be available just in time for the holiday season later on this year.
