Why AJ Styles Hasn't Been Wrestling, Undertaker News, Jeff Hardy
Wednesday, October 4, 2017
AJ Styles is currently the United States Champion, and he is often cited as one of the greatest wrestlers in all of WWE today. Despite this, Styles has not actually wrestled in a match for a while now. He really hasn't been appearing on Smackdown at all lately. As far as why Styles has been absent is concerned, Dave Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Styles has been wrestling every Tuesday night, the company just saves him for the dark main event to make sure nobody leaves during 205 Live. WWE took similar measures with Bobby Roode for a while before they started using him on television once again recently.
The Undertaker is one of the most legendary performers in the history of professional wrestling. He lost his match against Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania this year and seemingly retired. Nevertheless, rumors of him returning for another match have surfaced ever since. While his in-ring future is uncertain at the moment, WWE.com announced that Undertaker will be appearing at the Ace Comic Convention on the company's behalf in New York on December 8th. Does this mean that the relationship between WWE and The Undertaker isn't through just yet? Undertaker meet and greets are rather rare and his in-ring career could be coming to an end soon (if not already), so fans may want to take advantage of this opportunity.
Jeff and Matt Hardy left Impact Wrestling earlier this year and made a grand return at Wrestlemania 33 when they won the Raw Tag Team Championships. Matt and Jeff have been extremely popular ever since they've returned to the company, but it was recently confirmed by WWE that Jeff Hardy was going to have to take some time off to heal from an injury that he had sustained. PWInsider has updated fans on Jeff's condition, stating that he underwent surgery for a torn rotator cuff yesterday. The surgery was a successful one, and he should hopefully be back in WWE within 6-9 months. In the meantime, Matt Hardy will continue to wrestle each week on his own.
