Tonight is the night of the Mae Young Classic finale. The tournament started off with 32 talented women, and has since been cut down to just Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane. Multiple wrestlers tried their luck in the tournament only to be eliminated. The finale is expected to last 30 minutes and it will air live on the WWE Network after tonight's Smackdown broadcast goes off the air. It seems as though Shayna might win the tournament due to her friendship with Ronda Rousey, however, WWE may end up going with a babyface to win the inaugural tournament instead. There is currently no word on who is expected to win the tournament tonight.

While the winner seems uncertain, what is certain is that the tournament will definitely not determine the next NXT Women's Champion. Sportskeeda has now reported that the company is going to be giving the NXT Women's Championship to somebody currently working in NXT instead of the winner of tonight's match. While TJP won the Cruiserweight Championship, and despite Tyler Bate winning the UK Championship during the UK tournament, those were done because the plan was to establish new brands on the network (205 Live and the upcoming UK series.) WWE is not planning to give the women of the tournament their own show, and the women currently have enough titles to fight for in the company.

As mentioned before, Shayna Baszler is going to be wrestling in the finals of the tournament tonight. It has been confirmed that the other Four Horsewomen of MMA will be in attendance, as well as the Four Horsewomen of WWE. The Dirty Sheets notes that there is a reason for this. The plan is for all of the women to be involved in a major angle during tonight's show. This may set up the match between them that has been rumored for quite some time now. The feud was already teased when Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Bayley confronted Ronda Rousey, Jessamyn Duke, and Marina Shafir outside of Full Sail University recently.
