New John Cena Figure Announced to Benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation
Tuesday, July 11, 2017
In a press release put out by WWE today that announced a brand new action figure, but this one is a very special action figure. Mattel, Toys R Us, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation have announced that they will be producing a brand new John Cena action figure. The new figure is a basic edition of Cena with specially made All-American attire, and the new toy will be available exclusively at Toys R Us beginning on August 15th of this year. Each purchase of the action figure is for a good cause as WWE, Toys R Us, and Mattel have all announced that they will each be donating a portion of the sales revenue to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in order to help grant more wishes for sick children.
You also are able to pre-order the figure on the Toys R Us website starting today before it is released later in August. The figure was designed with the help of a little boy named Alex from Los Angeles, California. Alex worked with designers over at Mattel to help bring his vision of the perfect John Cena action figure into existence. Also mentioned in the press release is that Toys R Us will be holding a social media fundraiser, and for every retweet or share of the toy retailer's "#GivingIsAwesome" posts, $1 dollar will be donated to benefit Make-A-Wish America. The action figure is available to pre-order now through July 31st of this year.
John Cena is one of the biggest parts of the Make-A-Wish foundation. The famous wrestler has helped grant over 500 wishes for the organization, and Alex is one of millions of sick children who have been granted wishes over the years. In late August, another fundraising opportunity will come around when five of the action figures will be autographed by Cena himself, those figures will be auctioned off to the public on eBay, and 100% of the revenue made will go towards the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The companies are teaming up to do a really great deed for children across the country. By all means, pickup this action figure if you find it later this summer.
