Braun Strowman

After announcing his number one contendership for the Universal Championship after the Great Balls of Fire match between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns was attacked by a returning Braun Strowman. Strowman received an unexpected injury a while ago, and needed to take time off to heal as a result. The two men have since continued their feud which will culminate in an ambulance match at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view this weekend. Fans have been speculating who the winner of the match would be for weeks now. It appears that we may have a huge update on the winner of that match, as well as the possible main event of SummerSlam in August.

Sportskeeda is reporting that Braun Strowman is set to win the ambulance match against Roman Reigns. While Dave Meltzer reported that the rumored Wrestlemania main event of Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship was moved forward to SummerSlam, Sportskeeda says that Meltzer's report is completely false. In fact, the possibility of moving the match forward was "never even discussed." It appears that Strowman will be throwing Reigns into the ambulance this Sunday, and will also be taking his spot as number one contender to the Universal Championship at SummerSlam. The match is going to be taking place in Dallas, Texas this weekend.

If it is true that Strowman is going to win the match, it appears that we will be seeing a Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar match for the title at SummerSlam instead of the rumored Wrestlemania main event. Vince McMahon is said to be clinging onto the Reigns vs. Lesnar match hard, and he is not going to be giving that match away on any other shows. No word on what Roman will be doing on the SummerSlam show next month, but he will still be on it. It is also rumored that Reigns, Joe, and Strowman could face Lesnar in a Fatal 4-Way match, but that is not expected to happen now. Don't be surprised to see Strowman declared the winner of the match this Sunday.
