CM Punk Offered A Million Dollars To Return To Wrestling
Thursday, May 18, 2017
The UK Sun is reporting that English promoter Daniel Hinkles is offering CM Punk a cool million dollars to return to the ring to take part in Hinkles' promotion 5 Star Wrestling in June.
Hinkles wants Punk to take part in a massive 128 man tournament that is set to kick off June 10th in Liverpool. It will take place over 30 shows and the names being advertised include Johnny Mundo (the company's champion), Rey Mysterio, Jay Lethal and MANY others.
When asked about the offer Hinkles is quoted as saying, “We’ve been trying to contact CM Punk on and off for well over a year. We wanted him on the first show we did in Edinburgh in 2015. I’ve tried going through friends in the industry, I’ve gone through his website and sent dozens of emails but the opportunity has never been this big. We want to offer CM Punk $1 million dollars (£770,000) to come and join the 5 Star Wrestling tour starting June 10th. It’s a genuine offer. We’d love to hear back from the man himself. We want to do this with him.”
Punk infamously left wrestling right after the 2014 Royal Rumble event and has shown no interest in coming back into it again. After much talk and hype Punk debuted for the UFC in September of 2016 where he lost by submission to Mickey Gall. Punk has indicated on fighting MMA again since.
