During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter while promoting the movie The Wall which he plays a major character in, John mentions that he would want to play Vince McMahon in the story of his life, but also feels like a different actor play the role so that the audience doesn't think it was a WWE-produced movie.

"There is a story out there about the life and times of Vince McMahon. Man, I think it is a wonderful script from word one. But unfortunately, that would be something I'd love to do, but I feel maybe a different actor should do that movie, just because of how powerful the story is, and I would hate for the audience to feel that it is a WWE-produced product. And that's not in a bad way, it's just I want them to feel the emotion that I felt reading the script. I can just tell you that it's out there and that it's awesome and man, if it were all different, I would certainly love to step into Vince's shoes."

The story of the rumored script for WWE films would detail the life of the WWE chairman. While nothing solid has come forward about the script, it is rumored to take a lot of liberties with McMahon's life and the timeline of events. The WWE itself has not confirmed the script's existence but The Hollywood Reporter has written that a script was written for TriStar Pictures and is being written by Craig A Williams. The script is said to be titled "Pandemonium".

Interestingly, McMahons wife and current head of the Small Business Administration, Linda McMahon says she is doubtful the movie will end up being made. "I've heard rumors of that movie," Linda said. "I'm not sure that movie will ever see the light of day."
