Roman Reigns' Rumored Next Feud, Plans to Win Championship
Thursday, May 11, 2017
"The Big Dog" is back everybody, and it looks like his feud with Braun Strowman is officially over for the foreseeable future. Roman Reigns returned on the most recent Raw show from the United Kingdom, beat up an already injured Strowman, and sent him off of television for about a month or two while he has surgery on his elbow. While he was scheduled to face Strowman at the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view, that is said to be off the table now. WrestlingInc.com is now reporting that Roman will be moving on to a feud with The MIz. This feud will likely begin shortly and continue on for several months.
Originally, Roman had been set to lose to Strowman in an ambulance match at the upcoming pay-per-view. Strowman would then focus on capturing the Universal Championship from Brock Lesnar at the Great Balls of Fire show in Dallas. Roman however, would then pursue a championship feud with the Miz. The belief is that the Miz will win the Intercontinental Championship soon, only to drop it Roman Reigns not too long afterwards. The idea is that Roman Reigns will elevate the title since Brock Lesnar won't be around to defend the Universal Championship that often, much like John Cena did with the United States Championship back in 2015. Due to Strowman's injury, it's possible that the feud could be bumped up a bit earlier than planned.
Roman Reigns vs The Miz could make for an interesting series of matches, especially if Miz isn't made out to be a complete joke and works some real life aspects into the feud, like he did with Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Dean Ambrose, and so on. Miz challenges Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Championship on Raw next Monday night. It is possible that "the A-Lister" could win the belt, and then begin his feud with Roman Reigns. The Miz vs. Roman for the title was always a planned rivalry that was set to take place, but now the feud is almost a guarantee for the future. Expect to see Roman with the white strap thrown over his shoulder very soon.
