NXT Superstar Suffers Potential Injury During TV Tapings
Thursday, April 20, 2017
WWE held a recent set of NXT television tapings over at Full Sail University. During the tapings, a battle royal featuring all women of the NXT roster occured. The match determined the next number one contender to Asuka's Women's Championship, and will be airing on the May17th edition of NXT. Unfortunately, a bit of distressing news has come out of this match. It appears as though Asuka's most recent challanger, Ember Moon may have suffered an injury.
Various reports have claimed that Moon was standing on the top rope, but was knocked to the floor and sent crashing down rather hard. She smacked herself against the guardrail outside, shoulder first. She was reportedly hurt really badly, and was crying over at ringside. Eventually, doctors and trainers came over to tend to Moon's injury. The match ended shortly after she suffered the injury, and Moon was helped out of the arena by trainers.
An injury for Ember Moon could be catastrophic to NXT's long-term goals, as it seemed at if Moon was likely set to be the one to win the title and end Asuka's undefeated streak. WWE, nor Moon, has commented on the potential injury just yet, however, this certainly does not sound great. For now though, she is likely out of NXT Takeover: Chicago, which takes place on May 20th, the night before the Smackdown-exclusive pay-per-view Backlash.
